Robotic Cleaners
The 2012 Dolphin Premier Robotic Pool Cleaner really doesn’t disappoint. This latest pool cleaner from Maytonics seems to cover it all. It is one of the only robotic pool cleaners on the market to offer dual media options, which allow you to further customize your pool cleaning. The only downside here is that the oversized bag is an extra $59, but I think worth the cost, especially if you have a tree with falling leaves near your pool.
Like many cleaners on the market in recent years, the Dolphin Premier has rubber tracks rather than wheels. It also has Direct Drive which means you’ll never have to replace any belts on your machine. Its wheels plus its 360 degree cable swivel and its bi-directional cleaning, mean that it can move around your pool, up walls, over stairs, without getting too tangled or floating off of the wall, like I’ve seen other pool cleaners do.
The Dolphin Premier comes standard with two scrubbing brushes, rather than 0 or 1, which make a difference in the overall clean.
The Dolphin Premier is also one of the only robotic pool cleaners on the market to offer SmartNav technology. This is a neat feature that made a big difference in the little details of the pool. This feature lets the robot scan your pool for size and shape and then create a customized cleaning pattern so that it will cover every square inch of the pool.
The Dolphin Premier also comes with a remote control option—again an added $59.
Overall, I think that the Dolphin Premier is unique on the market today. It isn’t inexpensive, but compared to others on the market like it, it is fairly priced. The Premier is easy to use, and it is very efficient. Plus, a more efficient clean will save you money on chemicals, and save you the energy of cleaning the pool yourself.
