A tangled cord slows your robot, blocks coverage, and shortens the cord's life. Here is how to keep it running clean.
Set the Cord Up Right
Most tangles start before the robot even moves. A few habits make a big difference:
- Relax the cord by laying it out in the sun for a few minutes so it loses its coiled memory.
- Feed out only what you need — extra slack floating in the pool is what knots up.
- Place the power supply centered on the longest side of the pool, about 12 to 18 inches back from the edge, so the robot has even reach in every direction.
Get the Swivel Working for You
The single best defense is an anti-tangle swivel. This rotating joint lets the cord untwist itself as the robot turns, instead of building up coils that become knots. Make sure yours spins freely; a stiff or gummed-up swivel should be cleaned or replaced from our parts page.
