Key Features

  • Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner - The Dolphin Liberty 300 is completely cordless. However, the tradeoff is a constant need to charge.

Dolphin Liberty 300 Review

Dolphin Liberty 200

The Dolphin Liberty 300 is the first battery-powered robotic pool cleaner from Dolphin, set to be released in Spring 2023. While details are still limited, what we do know is that it is light and compact, making it perfect for all types of pools up to 10m long including above ground pools. It has a 1.5-hour cleaning cycle that can clean both the bottom and walls of the pool with ease.

Dolphin Liberty 300 Inductive Charging

Big Downside

The downside to this particular model is that you have to take it out of the water when charging as you cannot replace the battery between charges - you must charge for 6 hours before you can use it again. However, this makes up for its ergonomic design which makes it easy to handle and empty quickly when removed from water as well as its large capacity inner filter basket with top access and transparent lid so finding debris won't be an issue.

Dolphin Liberty Family

In comparison to other models such as Dolphin Liberty 600, Liberty 700s, and Liberty 800s, which all feature a removable and replaceable battery (Coming in 2024!), the Dolphin Liberty 200, 300, and 400 only have inductive charging capabilities.

Will it climb the walls?

The Liberty 300 features tracks for perfect grip on all surfaces, an active front brush, advanced scanning software and navigation system CleverClean™, and a reliable warranty from Maytronics - world leading manufacturers in robotic pool cleaners. We don't know if it will have waterline cleaning yet, a feature found among Dolphin's top robotic pool cleaners such as the Dolphin Sigma, Dolphin Premier, and Dolphin Quantum. We are also excited to find out if the battery can sustain the cleaning power of corded units.

Questions & Answers

Common questions about the Dolphin Liberty 300

Above-ground robotic pool cleaners are designed to clean the floor only. In-ground cleaners with wall-climbing capability are built differently; check your model's specs for floor-only vs floor, walls, and waterline.
With proper care and normal use, most robotic pool cleaners last 3–7 years. Lifespan depends on usage frequency, pool chemistry, surface type, and whether you store and maintain the unit as recommended.
It's best to remove the cleaner after each cycle and store it in a shaded, dry place. Leaving it in the pool can expose it to sun, chemicals, and debris, which can shorten its life.
Most plug into a standard 120V outlet via a low-voltage cable and control unit. A few models are cordless and run on a rechargeable battery; check your product's specifications.
Running it 2–3 times per week is typical for many pools. Heavy debris, high use, or large pools may require more frequent runs; smaller or covered pools may need less.
Check that the power supply is on and the cable isn't tangled or caught. Ensure the filter basket isn't overfull and that the unit isn't stuck on a step or drain. If it still doesn't move, refer to the manual or contact support.
No. Robotic pool cleaners run on their own power and filtration. You can run them with the pump off, which can save energy compared to pressure or suction-side cleaners.
Most residential robotic pool cleaners use a standard 120V outlet. The control box steps this down to low voltage for the floating cable. Check your manual for your model's requirements.
Simple tasks like cleaning filters and unclogging impellers are usually fine. For motor, cable, or electronics issues, use an authorized technician or the manufacturer's support to avoid voiding the warranty.
Cartridge filters are reusable: you rinse or wash them and put them back. Debris bags are often disposable or optional for heavy leaf pickup. Some robots include both; check your model for options.
Dolphin robots are designed to last many seasons. Lifespan varies by model, amount of use, pool chemistry, and pool surface. Following the manual and storing the unit properly helps maximize life.
DIY repairs should be done by an authorized technician. Contact your local retailer, Maytronics at 1-888-365-7446, or the support page on the manufacturer's website for service.
Dolphin units use a standard 120V outlet. The power supply converts this to the low voltage used by the cleaner. Do not use extension cords unless specified in the manual.
Replacement parts and filters are available through authorized Dolphin/Maytronics dealers, the manufacturer's website, and many pool retailers. Use genuine parts to keep the warranty valid.
Yes. Dolphin robotic pool cleaners are built to work in both chlorine and saltwater pools. Rinse the unit with fresh water after use to limit chemical and salt buildup.
