I am not sure . I have mine o. The deck and left an unzipped ziplock bag over it. It does sometime get sprinkler splash I. It and it has rained on it without problems. It looked to me like it might work 9n the rain but I took the extra precaution on mine. It works really well, it light weight easy to get out of the pool and so much easier to just lift up the top and dump out what is picked up. I have trees and it does a very good job on leaves that are under 6 inches long. I like aiper products and they always respond quickly to questions using the message section on amazon.

If the swimming pool cleaner is placed in the swimming pool for a long time, the PH value of the water will wear out some external parts of the cleaner and also affect the service life of  pool vacuum. No, it does not hook up to the filter. it operates independently. You dont mess with filter hoses and intakes.Basically plug the robot in, press the button for 1, 2 or 3 hours of cleaning and throw it into the pool. pull it out when done, clean filters, repeat a few days later.
