The media could not be loaded. The pool cleaner is well made and seems to clean well when its not stuck. In each cleaning cycle it would would at some point start to clean the waterline area and would get stuck in the corner of my stairs. It would rock forward and backward about 5 inches but never free itself. The rest of the pool didn't get cleaned. I let it try to free itself for about 4 minutes, it didn't so I moved it. I tried 3 more times but each time it would find its way to the stairs and get stuck, this is a real pain in the... This issue combined with the large size and heavy weight was reason for my decision to return it. It weighs 20lbs, add 5 to 10lbs until the water drains. Bending lower than floor level to lift out a 25-30lb machine can be pretty tough for some. However, the problem isn't so much with the cleaner, its the supplier BackYard Pool Superstore. Any return for something that they have no control of (ie. defective product, unhappy with its performance, anything the that they didn't do (doesn't matter if the manufacture caused the problem) they charge you 20% if its unused $180. plus shipping, and if you tried it in your pool, they charge you a 50% restocking fee $450. The is absolute highway robbery! Don't just glance at the "Prime" shipping annotation next to their listing and think you're Amazon safe if you need to return it. You are not protected by the good return policies that Amazon offers when you buy from the BackYard Pool Superstore. I've had 2 other robotic pool cleaners in the last 14 years and none were this heavy, nor did they get stuck. Unfortunately nether are available right not. However I'm not willing to give up $450 of the $899 to a store who just sells the product and wants to rip people off. Of course I had to try it to before I found its doesn't work for my pool. Your going to charge me $450 plus shipping (another $50 or so) just because I had to tried it in my pool to find out there was a problem? I guess I'll just have to babysit the cleaner and free it each time it gets stuck, and get into the water to push it up and out of the water when its done. This store is a total rip off, buyer be very aware! Even though it gets stuck in my pool, maybe it won't in yours. However, save yourself from the chance of losing a bunch of money and buy this from someone who has a little to no risk return policy or maybe a local store if you can.

In short: in the 2-3 months since buying this I couldn't be happier. This is the best pool purchase I've made. Period. I had a Polaris with booster pump and it was always giving me issues. I bought this to replace and it's been a dream. I'll update this if I have any issues or if it's still going strong through warranty period and after. Biggest question I had when I purchased: 1. I read it doesn't do walls and scrub tiles, or has issues with these. Well that's wrong. My pool is rectangular with sharp corners and is 6' at the deepest and it does great on walls and scrubs the tile line. (See Pictures) 2. Will I need to vacuum still? As a pool owner I've gotten used to sitting in 103 degree texas temps and vacuuming the pool to suck up the dirt and other things on the bottom of the pool. I've not vacuumed once since 3. Will I need to sweep? Nope. It gets everything but the steps. I still take 2 min twice a week to brush the steps which is well better than the 20 minutes it took to do the whole pool. 4. Does it have problems with steps? It does not do a great job on my steps that are fairly small, and definitely doesn't do my tanning ledge (but it gets the walls) 5. Is it easy to clean? Very easy. Take the basket out, hose it off. Done. 6. How often do you do I use it? It depends on how much pool use. If the kids go in, I do it the next day. Otherwise once or twice a week. Would I recommend? Yes and I have to another pool owner I know which was struggling with algea due to lack of time to do their pool vacuuming and sweeping. They also had a Polaris which was constantly giving them problems. Since having this they had no issues what so ever. What to know when you first get it: So this was my experience and my friend''s experience. When I first bought it I was VERY concerned that I would still need to brush all the walls since this really didn't go up them often, and really considered doing a quick return of this. However this has to do some learning or break in period because after a week it was scrubbing the tiles and taking on the whole pool with no issues. So very glad I waited that week before returning.

Mine Cleans the Scum Line!

I rarely give 5 stars, and please keep in mind I've only run this twice, but I Love It! A review video AND the owner' manual say this cleaner will not do the scum line, but mine certainly does, and it does it quickly. My pool is 37' by 17', 10' deep to 3' in the shallow end. I use to have the Aquabot Classic which worked fine, but tangled power lines, getting caught in corners, stairs, and skimmers, plus the bag rinsing made me decide to try this cleaner. I do scoop the bigger leaves and 12" pine needle out first, but otherwise, it picks up everything. I went through 3 Aquabots in 16 years. I hope this Nautilus lasts longer, considering the price. Love it, so far.

I rely heavily on product reviews when making purchases so I will leave the most accurate comprehensive review possible. I researched robotic pool cleaners extensively prior to this purchase. For the cost, I believe this is the best choice. Pro's... strong suction, excellent traction, adequate pool coverage, easy to clean/replace removeable cartridges, overall excellent cleaning device. Cons... becomes disabled on steps, no user/owners manual, cord to power supply is short, should come with cart/which is an additional purchase. I have a 25,000 gallon pebble tech in ground pool. The Dolphin is supplementing a Hayward DE filter system. The in ground system is performing to standards, however the Dolphin replaces the need to manually vacuum debris left on the walls or bottom. The Dolphin arrived promptly with no damage. The contents includes a quick start guide, however no owners manual. I downloaded the owners manual and it basically contains the same information as the quick start guide...pretty much no information. This unit operates with "clever clean technology." I have no idea what that is. Some of the more costly models indicate that the unit will scan and map your pool for optimum coverage. That is not happening with this model. It navigates randomly. It covers 90% of the pool each cleaning, which I consider excellent. I have several 5 inch steps and two benches that are at the 4 foot level. The Dolphin will occasionally climb one or two of the short steps but is unable to climb to the higher steps. The Dolphin climbs up to the higher benches and often turns and becomes disabled/stuck on top of the bench. I included a picture of the Dolphin disabled. It's necessary to unplug the power source, plug it back in and give a tug to remove it from the bench and begin the cleaning cycle over again. My children enjoy watching the Dolphin and they named it "Willy." It was later amended to "Free Willy," as they shouted out to me to "go free Willy." The extra cloth filters that shipped with the Dolphin do a much better job of retaining debris than the installed nylon cartridges. Once you insert the cloth cartridges you won't go back to the nylon. The cartridges are easily accessed from the top doors and cleaned with a hose. The rolling storage cart was an additional $129. From a marketing standpoint the manufacturer realized you pretty much need the cart and since you paid $699 you will most likely spend the additonal $129. I feel they took advantage of me with that deal. You do need the cart. They should include it with the purchase of the Dolphin for a total price of $750. The cart is basically a golf club cart with a value of no more than $50. You need to obtain a bungy cord and use it to secure the long power cord to the cart or it will not stay attached. That should have been included. The quick start guide was adamant that you should not use a supplemental extension cord. Presumably from a safety perspective so the Dolphin does not drag that cord into the pool. Most people will find that you need to use an extension cord to plug the independant power supply modual into the outlet or you will not get the Dolphin close enough to your pool. I have experienced no problems using an extension cord for this purpose. I operated the Dolphin for 45 days prior to submitting this review. Overall I am very pleased and hopeful that the unit holds up mechanically over time.

This thing does an insanely great job!!! My neighbor bought one after his polaris cleaner broke, his logic was it was $600 to buy 'another one' , he said it was his 3rd, so he went a different route. After he did his first cleaning, I went over and helped/watched and was amazed at all it cleaned to include his tile walls. I was sold, bought it and haven't looked back. With the Polaris, it ran everyday, I ran it 8 hours which uses another pump, required over watch for the tubing to get all tangled, cleaning every other day, and always needed a sweeper tail scrubber, new parts, etc. With the Dolphin Robot, It's a 1-3 hour clean, I generally select 2 hours because I have natural stone that erodes. It's super easy, I connect it to controller, plug it it, throw it in the pool, select 2 hours and let it go! I do this twice a week! Not everyday like the polaris, It doesn't tangle, get stuck, or burn through cleaning parts. It does an amazing clean, sucks up the silt from the stones, gets hair, leaves, snails...you get it .

I bought mine on 4-10-19. Here is is 9-7-22; the unit still works flawlessly. Original everything even filters. It is such a huge upgrade to clean with this unit. No more clogging the main pool filter with the suction units, this unit works independently. I do not use the app so I cannot comment on it. I don’t need the app. I put it in the pool and press the on switch. After a few hours my pool is completely clean. I take it out, wind the cord and spray the filters. Easy. Recently I got a new roof on my house. The pool was full of shingle dirt. This unit got 100% of the shingle dirt. I was amazed when I sprayed out the filters, it capture a lot of debris. I even located a pressure washer tip that the unit sucked up. Yeah, occasionally I find the unit stuck on the stairs. I just give it a nudge. It is expensive but easily worth the money. Strong Buy! ✌️

Eight years ago I fired the pool man and got Carl. He did an outstanding job of cleaning the sand, dirt, and leaves here in the desert. He worked year around without complaint (or benefits). So when he had a heart attack and was in hospice without Medicare the cost of a heart transplant was prohibitive. We did assisted suicide and said a fond goodbye. Carl Two arrived very promptly and immediately went to work. He is young and energetic and took right to the water. It appears he has had rock climbing training because he does a much better job along the walls and tile. Then I went to clean him and found he had picked up far more dirt and sand than his ancestor. His only fault is that when climbing the steps he gets confused and thinks he is at the top step too soon. If Carl Two does as well as his namesake for as many years I will be extremely happy. I understand that he has a bunch of hard-working relatives that love to swim. You should consider inviting one of them to join you. You will be happy.

Best pool cleaner I ever bought

I’m really kind of surprised at some of the negative reviews. I have tried pressure side pool cleaners, pump driven pool cleaners and just about everything you can imagine. I have spent years juggling hoses and connecting and disconnecting them from pumps and dragging them in and out of the pool. It’s so simple, drop it in and press one button. I actually have an unautomated schedule. I also love the Wi-Fi connectivity. I can turn it on with my phone. It runs for two hours a day, and I clean the filters once a week. I read all the research and finally settled on this model. It has dramatically changed my life. It does a very thorough job of cleaning my pool, climbing the walls and pausing whenever it finds dirt. My water is much more clear because there is much less dirt in the pool. When we sent swim It no longer stirs up a cloud. The two filters pick up a sizable amount of trash and they’re easy to remove and clean with the hose. Any fine dirt that sprays up in the pool is removed by our sand filter. I have a saltwater chlorinator and our pool now remains crystal clear with very little effort. The only problem I’ve had with it is it tends to high center on the drain. As many pool robots do. Zodiac make some pool drain cover for robots which Eliminates this tendency.

Purchased this as a potential time saver for pool maintenance but we were skeptical that it would perform as advertised. We have a decades old gunite pool with a so-so functioning skimmer that makes vacuuming using the traditional method time consuming and not particularly effective. The pool is around some trees so there is always small dust/particles falling into the pool. The Dolphin robot is amazing. From the first day we were impressed. We have now used it daily for a week and it keep on impressing. There was a section in the deep end where a substantial portion of grit had accumulated over time that we had been unable to get up through usual means. Over the course of the week all and I mean ALL of the grit has been removed. The product is ergonomically well designed, easy to remove from the pool (although out of the water it is on the heavy side). The filters are easy to remove; takes a bit of effort to clean them esp. in the beginning when it is pulling out so much stuff. I purchased the extra filters so if I am rushed and don't have time to clean them before I want to use it again I can pop in the second set. Yes it has trouble with the steps and occasionally gets caught on them but usually can work itself free. Well worth the investment.

We have a 20' x 40' in-ground pool with a 12' deep end, stairs, and a ladder. The Dolphin cleans every inch of it in less than 2 hours and even cleans the sides just above the water line. I like that it connects to our WiFi and can be controlled by Alexa and Siri. Cleaning the filters is easy but you have to be careful with them. They are all plastic and the filter screens are very thin. Having two spare screens would be helpful. This is our fist season using it and, so far, I haven't seen any wear on the rubber wipers. I don't regret buying this robot vacuum.

The curd is a little short and they say absolutely no extension cords. My husband said it is due to different quality of extension cords so we bought a contractor cord and so far so good. Cleans the pool in 2 hours, just set it off and go away. I love that. It goes up the sides of the pool nicely , the steps are not so good, but doing it by hand also the steps are difficult. I think the thing to do is push the grit off the steps into the pool and it will be fine.

We have a 20k gal pool with an infloor cleaning system that handles the main pool. However, we also have an infinity edge on the pool witha swimmable catch basin underneath that collects all the leaves / dirt / etc that the engineers didn't think to have connected to the in floor. So our solution has been to run the Dolphin in the catch basin, which works well at keeping the pool clean. It is overall a good cleaner and easy to operate. This is our 3rd machine in 9 years, though - I think that is the main thing to be aware of which is that these break down every few years no matter what. I wish it wasn't the case, but we have over time just learned to accept it is the price of having a pool and keeping it clean - it's still cheaper than hiring out the work where we live, and this is the best price/value cleaner we have found.

We are brand new pool owners and didn't have a clue how to keep the pool clean. Hired a pool cleaner to come over for an hour to give me a quick lesson on what to do. His last piece of advice was to suck it up and invest the money in a Dolphin. Live in Arizona and no matter what we did, we couldn't get all of the sand and leaves out of the pool. Reluctantly plunked down the money and ordered a Dolphin after a big storm that deposited half the leaves in my trees into my pool. Now this is the part where we are became huge fans of the Dolphin. Learned our lesson the hard way that you shouldn't go swimming with your wedding bands on. My wife looked down at her hand and noticed that her centerpiece diamond was missing from her ring. Looked at each other and said it has to be at the bottom of the pool. Fired up the Dolphin to see if it could find the stone and after the second round of cleaning it was sitting in the filter. This thing is so thorough that it can find a loose diamond in the bottom of a pool.

2 Years of Ownership- Incredible Product and Incredible Support!

My review is of the product and not the retailer. I wanted to give an update on this product after two years of ownership and share an outstanding experience that I had with the manufacturers support team. I have owned my Dolphin Pool Cleaner for exactly 2 years and 2 months. It does a great job of cleaning the pool from leaves and larger items all the way down to granular sand and settlement. The filters can last a couple seasons with routine cleaning and are widely available for order with fast shipping from a number of retailers. The robot is fast and it gets the corners and stairs of our large in ground pool with a vinyl liner. Even though they do not list it as a feature, in our pool the cleaner does also climb the walls and cleans at the waterline. Our full pool maintenance consists of running the Dolphin a couple hours a day, cleaning and emptying the traps, and skimming the top of the pool prior to swimming. The Dolphin saves so much time and relieves the strain of so much of what it captures going into your pools filtration system, because it has its own filter. All of this being said, I do think that our particular unit happened to be a “lemon”, but no matter- please read on. The unit comes with a 2 year warranty. About one year in, my power supply stopped working. I wasn’t sure of the cause, but because it had been exposed to some rain I did not file a warranty claim or try to get Maytronics to replace it. I am reasonably sure that it was not the rain that caused my issue as the unit was flashing and acting strangely in the weeks prior. This was all about one year in. I bought a replacement power supply for $150 and moved on with life. Fast forward to two years and two months in (only a couple of weeks ago), the unit started to stall and power off after about 5 minutes. The power station would not allow me to set the timer. I could tell something was wrong with the unit, but I was two months out of warranty. I researched and found a local pool store that was an authorized repair facility and took the unit in to them. They had it a day and informed me that the unit needed a new central computer and that the cost to have it repaired was $500. For that price, I decided I would just invest in a new machine. I started to research. I decided the next morning to call Maytronics and see if they would offer a voucher or any assistance or discounts towards a new unit because of the experience I had with this unit just two months out of warranty. I expected nothing, but I had also decided that if Maytronics wasn’t willing to do something to retain me as a customer that I would try another brand like Hayward or Polaris on the next go around. Much to my surprise my call was answered promptly by a real person. I explained my situation in full and after a brief hold the support person gave me instructions to ship the unit to a repair facility here in Illinois. I shipped the unit on Saturday morning and it was returned to me in complete working order the following Wednesday working like brand new. I am so happy! I think if you can get 4 or 5 seasons out of one of these units, thats reasonable. Only two would be unacceptable to me. These things are in the water a lot bumping around in your pool and it’s only natural that they are going to wear out, but I can tell you that if I get a couple more years out of mine after this repair I will be back to Maytronics on my next unit. After talking to my local shop I didn’t think getting mine repaired was going to be an option. Their company did the right thing by taking care of me and I will be a good customer now who refers others. It is rare that I feel strongly enough about a product to write a review at all- good or bad. This has been a great experience.

Make sure you measure your pool distance from an outlet. I did the first time, but didn't leave enough extra, so had to return. The company gave me a full refund (awesome!!) and I bought a little more expensive model with a longer cord. Man! Does it ROCK! I have an ozone pool that is crystal clean. This little vacuum sucks hard and gets all the leaves and critters off the bottom so I have practically nothing left to do except a little brushing and skimming. It does scrape itself on the bottom sometimes and leaves some faint black plastic scratch marks off it's casing on the sides and bottom, but scrubs off easily. Now, I love my pool again!

Saved Me from Pool Resurfacing

This review is 2.5 years after purchase of a Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. Unit runs daily, every day of the year, hot climate. Two and half years ago my pool became unmanageable with traditional suction cleaners. The pool has a pebble finish. The pebbles are coming off. It so bad that with a normal suction vacuum I had to not only clean out the filter out every other day but also wet-vac the bottom of the filter cartridge assembly. The pool demand was high. As the pebbles come off, it leaves a ever-more porous surface, breeding grounds for black algae to dig its roots. Black algae accumulated on sections of walls, even with cooler temperatures (60-70F), triple shock, and normal brushing. Finally I ordered this pool cleaner along with salt water chlorinator; the combination of two allowed me to get the situation back in control. Using a steel brush and triple shocking I managed to eventually eliminate the black algae and more pool finish! In the early days it would pick up to 4-5 pounds of pebbles a week, less and less as time progressed. Now my pool filtrates as it should, no pebbles in the main filter. I only need to clean the filters once a week. Black algae has never returned. The pool still looks good, the only way one can tell theirs a problem is by running their hands on the surface or being in the pool, feels a bit rough on the feet. Wall climbing: Compared to a Hayward Navigator and generic creepy crawler this unit attaches to the walls much better. It uses a jet of water ejected from the top to keep itself attached. It’s quiet, it can unnerving at first listening to it come out of the water to go across the pool wall edge. Detangler mechanism: For it work right the cable slack needs to be secured, as the detangler mechanism needs some resistance from the cable for it to spin. If the cable slack is not secured it will slowly feed more and more cable into the water. Instead of detangling it will end up tangled all in the pool. Stairs: On my pool, it may get stuck on a stair only when the pool water levels are low (14 ½ “ from stair bottom to water level, normal level 17 “) . Otherwise if I stare at it, it may appear to get stuck on a stair for a bit, but it does a good of eventually getting out on it’s own. None of my suction cleaners ever climbed stairs. Maintenance: After 2.3 years I performed my first maintenance, spent $100+ to replace the belts and gears. The absolute worse thing about this unit is the climbing rings. The climbing rings are four sponge rings that need to be replaced less than once a year. The part is very expensive for a piece of sponge that’s very inexpensive to produce. I never replaced mines. My unit climbs and sticks to walls fine without the climbing rings. As the belt wears it will start to come off the track. As it wears more it will come off the track more often. If one belt feels looser than the other, the bearings are the issue, replace the gears immediately. The unit is easy to maintain. The slick looking plastic exterial at purchase is now completely dulled out due to the hot sun. If I run my hand along the part of electrical cord that is mainly in the water, tiny bits come off into my hand. Filter: To avoid breaking the bottom plastic pieces on the filters when removing, pull slightly out and up, not side ways. Your unit is not broken! The power cycle time on the timer runs longer than needed for the unit to complete it’s cycle. Henceforth if you see power still being sent from the timer, but the unit isn’t moving, it’s cause it completed its cycle, not because of some other fault.

Great pool cleaner, but parts are hard to find

I’ve had this Dolphin for about 4 years now. It’s done a fantastic job keeping the pool clean. It was time to replace the rubber tracks though, and I have since learned that parts are somewhat hard to acquire. The links at Maytronics’ website link here to Amazon, but parts are often unavailable, or improperly listed. I ended up finding an online pool supply shop, but it worries me what it will be like acquiring parts over the long run. That aside, it was fairly easy to repair on my own, and the Dolphin is back to work.

The pool guy who's serviced the pool the entirety of its life happen to come to be our pool guy and he said its never looked better. We know it's because of flipper (yes we named our robot). Does not clean dirt and sand

I both love and hate this machine. I paid a ton of money for this and it cleans the large debri and leaves sand all over the pool. i"ve had it two years and my pool liner is getting stained from all the dirt and sand sitting on the bottom. I'm really pretty upset as I researched long and hard and paid more than I really wanted and although it works great - I am still left with a filthy pool due to sand on the bottom . Of course you try to sweep it into one spot and it simply floats around and lands where it wants. It's a nightmare that is just getting worse over time. I just had a new liner installed and had that expense and now it is all stained and looks aweful. I had a polaris before that "WHEN IT WORKED" It worked great but those dang polaris are always breaking and spends more time in the shop than actually cleaning the pool. What is a girl to do??

I purchased this robot back in May of this year before I opened my pool for the season. My wife uses the robot almost every other day, we have quite few trees around our pool, and it works great. Despite some reviews that say otherwise, IT DOES climb the walls and the steps without getting stuck. We keep it on a two hours cleaning cycle every time we use it and we have not had any issues with it. Just make sure that you follow the instructions on how to use it correctly. It is however, quite heavy when you pull it out of the pool to clean it. We are recommending this product because it is efficient, quiet, easy to clean and it does not leave marks on the liner as others have mentioned and for the tangle free power cord.

Just purchase, it’s so worth it!

My life insisted on cleaning the pool by hand. The the attachment broke I surprised her with this. The pool is so much cleaner and less maintenance. It’s made both of our lives easier. Only cons I have are not the fault of the vacuum. Sometime it gets stuck on the ladder when climbing the walls. The soft foam wheels will eventually need to be replaced. This is expected as a maintenance item and I have a rough edge around my pool.

We had an in pool automatic cleaner that connected to a valve on the wall. It would run well but only picked up debris and did not scrub at all. This one is a big lift and runs for under 3 hours instead of 12 hours like our old one.

The power cord. The swivel has never worked and so the cord has become increasingly kinked over time to the point that 1/3 of our pool is never cleaned. Additionally, the blue casing on the cord is breaking down and bits of the plastic is now part of the filtration system. For such an amazing (and expensive) product, it's unfortunate that needing to purchase a replacement part for the card (~$180) is required just a few years after purchase. Beyond this, it's an amazing product.

I was hesitant to spend the money on this. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance of this machine. My pool is a rectangle with a Baja step, pebble tec. The CC plus climbs my walls and step to the Baja step to include the whole Baja surface. It cleans the water lines. I bought the pleated filters and it picks up all the leaves and small particles. My pool has never been cleaner. Big improvement from my suction cleaner. Very satisfied.

I’ve had the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus for most of the summer of 2022. My pool does not have a vacuum line plumbed in so I had to find an externally driven cleaner. Got this one based on the reviews and haven’t been disappointed. My pool is not large, may 16’ x 32’. The cleaner runs for a couple hours and gets everything up, including leaves and very fine dirt. It can climb the first two steps as well as the built in bench seat, it also does a good job running along the tile line, cleaning that area as well (not sure how it does that).

It keeps my pool clean as described. The only issues I came across is 1) It can get stuck in some odd shaped corners or on steps. But with steps, it isn't the steps near the shallow end that I find it stuck on, but the one in the deep end where you can pull yourself up on to get out. I find it gets stuck on that one a lot. 2) the blue cable does slowly start flake off if you leave it in the water to many days in a row. But the directions do state that you should pull out out on a regular basis and let it dry out. I didn't dot hat much. As I had it on a schedule to run every day.

We have been contemplating buying a robotic vacuum for our above ground vinyl lined pool with a deep end for years. I finally bit bullet and purchased this pool vacuum after overanalyzing all the options out there. We needed something to climb walls and a deep end but we wanted it to be gentle on the vinyl. We couldn’t have purchased this at a better time. The day it arrived we had a huge storm in Maryland that left my pool full of leaves and debris. After skimming the surface we put this little guy to work. There were a significant number of leaves in the pool and it got all of them. It picked up the dead algae we had just shocked to death too. It picked up the poplar seeds. It picked up a hair tie someone had left behind. We did have to empty the two filters a couple times due to the heavy organic load but that is a simple process including rinsing it out with a hose. I have back issues and the 19 Lb robot was not too heavy for me to lift out of the pool. This was a great purchase despite the expense of it. I chose this one because it climbs walls, was half the price of the more complex models out there and it got mostly great reviews. I am hoping with care it will last us several summers. Our pool hasn’t looked brighter or cleaner in years.

I have a 15,000 gallon in-ground pool and switched from a name-brand water-pressure powered sweep. My previous sweep had parts that apparently dissolve in chlorine and/or water. It also loved to tie itself in knots and suck up every pool toy it ran across. It was always in the shop and it always cost $99.00 dollars to fix. Not anymore. I leave my Dolphin Nautilus in the water always unless I am doing a shock. I clean the filters about every three cleaning cycles and it takes about 3 minutes and a hose. The filter is so fine it catches diatomaceous earth (DE), but the smaller intake keeps out large items.. I suggest getting the model with the swivel cord which works flawlessly. This thing never gets tied-up or stuck and I don't care what the manual says, it scrubs my walls at the waterline sideways. I love manually running this thing a few hours before a pool party because it is so quick and makes the pool look fantastic. I could not be happier and feel confident with my new brand.

I have owned my inground pool for five years. I just bought this automatic vacuum. I used to spend between 30-45 minutes vacuuming the pool. Now I spend five minutes. First time automatic pool vacuum user - Here's my experience!

Background: I currently have a large 27,000 gallon in-ground, vinyl liner "True L" shaped pool with a large 3.5' shallow end, 8' deep end, and 6-inch corners (these are fairly sharp corners). I have only used the standard vacuum type that comes standard with pools so far - a hose that attaches to the pool filter via suction and then the standard stick and vacuum end, I have not purchased or used an aftermarket pool vacuum or automatic pool vacuum in the past. I purchased a "Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Automatic Robotic Pool Cleaner with Easy to Clean Large Top Load Filter Cartridges and Tangle-Free Swivel Cord, Ideal for In-ground Swimming Pools up to 50 Feet" in May 2020 on Amazon for $779. I purchased it based on the overwhelming number of positive reviews, its relative price-to-value, and the ability for me to have it serviced in-town, if needed. Out of the Box: Just a few parts - the vacuum unit and chord, power supply unit, and a set of extra fine filters and clips in a reusable bag. I plugged it in...nothing. Tried another outlet...nothing. Finally after troubleshooting everything I called Maytronics directly. They indicated this was not common, but did happen on occasion right out of the box. With a pretty easy 10-15 minutes on the phone, the serial number from the unit and my address, they had a new power supply shipped to me which arrived the following week (took about 4 business days). This one worked fine so I plugged it in and the vacuum started right up. Using the Vacuum: My pool is large (see size above) and was not covered for the winter as the patio had not been done yet in the prior season. As a result, it was pretty bad - algae covered surfaces, fine dust/dirt everywhere, small rocks from the patio underlay that had kicked into the pool over the winter, leaves, and just plain goop from decayed leaves and whatnot. The vacuum was unable to scrub the algae effectively after several passes with the exception of the foam part of the wheels/treads, so I had to use my manual brush to loosen the algae up. This caused the fine particles to go into solution in the water, which greatly clouded up the pool. Over the next few days I ran the vacuum repeatedly, emptying and cleaning it out completely and thoroughly between each cycle - which was quite a bit of dirt and leaves each time and nice because I personally could not see the bottom and would not have been able to manually vacuum it. During this time the particulate slowly settled to the bottom, and finally I switched to the finer filters. This really got the job done, and now it is crystal clear. With no more leaves or large dirt items, I am running it every few days using the fine filters simply as maintenance. Overall Conclusions: I am pretty satisfied with this overall. It does effectively clean the pool without me having to do anything other than put it in the water and then clean the filters (and apparently scrub hard to get algae, which should be rare). Importantly, it does not use the pool's filter, so when it collects dirt and whatnot it is then fully removed from the pool without getting cycled back through or clogging up the pool filter requiring constant back washing. I think this is a very important aspect of a good automatic pool cleaner. My only comment from a functionality perspective is the inability to control the vacuum manually. While this is not 100% necessary, I have noticed that the dirt collects in specific areas, and due to the size of my pool I have to run the vacuum through its full cycle once or twice to catch all those areas. With that being said, comparing the price for similarly-rated models the cost for that feature was so much greater I chose not to go that direction. I rated it a 4/5 Overall based on the bad power supply out of the box, need to run a few passes sometimes, its inability to be controlled manually, and fact that I have not owned it long enough to comment on (or rate) reliability. However, it is definitely a product I would recommend based on my experience so far. Hope this helps!

The pool season is now half over. I was told over the phone two weeks ago that "it would be a few more weeks". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I hope someone from Maytronics monitors these reviews. I spent over $1k with the extended warranty only to have used it for 3 weeks. It's been over a month. FIX THIS PLEASE. ***EDIT*** Three days after I posted this review, the part finally came in. It works to power the robot, but it won't connect to wifi. At this point, I will have to live with it as is. When it's operational, it's a fantastic robot. The customer service has been terrible so far. Raising it to 4 stars. Would have been 5 if the customer service was better.

So you can compare my review with your own equipment I have salt water, Hayward cartridge filter, Hayward variable speed pump, and an inground lagoon/freeform 25k gallon pool. My pool pump runs 8 hours a day everyday. I couldn’t decide so purchased 2 brand new pools cleaners, a Polaris 360 (with a sand/silt bag) and the Dolphin nautilus (with the added pleated filters). After a year of using them both simultaneously I would say that both cleaners are extremely comparable. My pros for the nautilus: I like that it can clean my pool ledge and the waterline. It’s also nice if you don’t want to run your pump all the time to vacuum the pool. Also the Pleated cartridge filter is great to aid with the pool filter in cleaning debris. My pros for the Polaris: I like that it turns on and off with my pool pump, it cleans all day and does not need to keep being turned on to run longer like the nautilus. It does tend to catch more debris than the nautilus for the same electrical cost as running my pump. There are no cords running across the pool deck. My filtered pool water is distributed more evenly through the pool also helping with the temperature. Not having to take it in and out bc it has no electricity to have concern. Ultimately I feel my pool stays cleaner with the Polaris. It seems to capture more debris that the nautilus often time misses but this could be due to run time. If you are already running your pump as long as I am go with the Polaris. If you want to run your pump less than I do then definitely get the nautilus. Both I would say are great cleaners, the nautilus just needs more time to run to really get the pool as clean as the Polaris.

I inherited a Dolphin model when I bought a house that the previous owner had for 5 years and then I used it for another 8 years- so 13 years of service but the last two years it would only stay in the deep end of the pool. I have since moved to another house with a pool and was hoping to use it but the power supply kept triggering the gfi outlet and could not get it to work. Rather than buy a new power suppply I decided to get this new model and I'm very satisfied. Does a great job of going in all areas of the pool. I also like this filter basket better than the previous model that had a filter system on each side of the unit that had to be taken apart to clean. This basket is much easier to clean up. This model also does a better job picking up dirt and pine needles as well as largeleaves. My only recommendation is that you keep the power supply out of the sun when running. The membrane gets very hot and started to separate from the housing but was okay after cooling down. Keep the power supply under an umbrella or shaded area or run it in the evening after the sun goes down.

I have had this pump for about a month now. It does well with cleaning. However, I think it is a bit heavy for the average person to pull out of the pool when it is wet. It has two filters that break down into four pieces when cleaning. I wish it were a one-piece filter, which would be easier to clean. I did not invest in a stand yet. For now it is good, but hopefully the pump's plastic will hold up to the Texas summer heat. I store it in the shade, but am worried that it may need a box or cover to prevent direct sunlight when not in use.

I previously used a Polaris pressure side cleaner that for a decade I could never get adjusted correctly and was a complete pain to use. I have had this robotic cleaner for 3 months now and greatly enjoy the experience. It gets to around 95% of the pool and the rest I brush by hand. I purchased the micro filters, which I think should have been included with the machine vs a separate purchase. On the negative, it is heavy to remove from the pool due to being filled with water, too heavy for my wife to handle. But once on the side of the pool after water drainage the weight is manageable. And of course you need to be extremely gentle with the cord, with minimal pressure on it. But even with these negatives, this thing is absolutely great compared to what I was using before, I would highly recommend this unit.

I bought this unit back in April 2020 and it has worked great until this summer when the power unit failed. I contacted the support group and have never been as impressed as I am with Maytronic. Had this for 4 months now and would definitely recommend. I run it on for pre-programmed hour (more like 1:15) and the pool turns out beautiful every time (27,000 gallons). I’m amazed at the sand/dirt it picks up and it’s ability to scrub the waterline. Picks up just about everything! The only thing it struggles with is the built-seating we’ve got, but that’s to be expected. It eventually frees itself. Clean up of the filter is a breeze as well. Extremely happy with purchase. Go and get one….you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!

When I purchased the Dolphin (6-2022) it was $849, at $729 it’s an amazing deal. I would have paid $1000 for this thing. We live behind a cornfield, and always seemed to have a fine layer of dirt on the bottom of the pool. Regular vacuuming would never clean it all the way. I would spend hours on the weekend trying to get the pool clean so that we could enjoy it. My neighbor suggested I purchase the Dolphin, and after the first cleaning my pool was never cleaner. I do not have the Wi-Fi option, however I do set mine to clean daily early in the morning. I clean it he filters once a week and reset the cleaning cycle and I have not had to do anything besides adjust my chemicals this entire pool season. It is worth every penny, I wish I had found it sooner.

I had previously purchased an app based automatic pool vacuum. Couldn’t get the app to work. Ran the auto pool vac on manual for one cleaning before I returned it. I then purchased the dolphin nautilus cc plus robotic vacuum. This vacuum is easy to use. Plug it in press start and away it goes cleaning my pool for two hours. Does an excellent job on the bottom and the walls of the pool When finished the screens are easy to remove and clean. And outstanding simple to use robotic cleaner. Skip the Wi-Fi enabled ones.

Just like all things it’s not perfect, but all in all I am so happy I bought this dolphin. Just drop her in the pool and go. This dolphin can’t be programmed to go certain places but if she’s in the water long enough she will prolly pass over the area needing cleaned. We did purchase an additional handheld vacuum because this dolphin can’t really do stairs well nor get super close to the corners, and that’s where a lot of the debris settles. She is definitely worth the money.

Received this after wanting for a year. Was easy to setup and get it ready to use. I have the wifi, which was simple to connect but sometimes lose connection but my wifi router is kind of far but still reaches. So far ziggy is what we named ours, works great and really gets my pool clean and has been alot cleaner this year. I noticed when cleaning the filter it even captures algae in the filter. He does seem to get stuck sometimes in tight places corners of steps and built in benches, sometimes he will get itself unstuck but other times need to assist but otherwise works works great and easy to clean.

TLDR: Great little robot, cleans very well. Don't waste your money on the WiFi model unless the vendor spends some time re-developing the application. I saw a lot of varied reviews on this robot, so I waited 2 months before writing mine. All in all I have not had any functional issues with the performance of the robot in the pool beyond it getting stuck on the stairs 2-3 times in the last 2 months. It is doing a very good job at removing all dirt and leaves from my pool - to be fair, we have an enclosed small pool, and most of the debris is sand/dirt, but it does a very good job of completely removing it. I have not seen any scratching or scuffing that others have mentioned, and I have not hand any mechanical problems with the device. The only thing I've noticed so far that may become an issue long term is that the cable is losing it's coloration already, which makes me think that it will degrade sooner than I would prefer. I did choose to upgrade to the wifi model, and this was honestly not worth the money. Here's the con's with the application: 1. Difficulty getting it connected the first time. This took about 15-20 minutes of trying and re-trying. 2. The application has zero manual control. 3. The "schedule" is no more than what would be on the physical buttons. Every day, Every 2 days, Every 3 days. This only works when the device is cloud connected - so the commands are clearly coming from their cloud - I can tell this because it dropped wifi for no reason about 1 week after initial setup and just started running daily until I noticed it. The schedule NEEDS more customization. For example "Every day on weekdays" would be helpful. Or "Every (select day(s) of the week)". Or "Once a week on (select day)". 4. The overall app is clunky, old, and just plain basic. You have no real status of the robot beyond running, not running, start/stop, and next scheduled time.

The best thing about the Dolphin is that it climbs up on our cabo deck and cleans that area too! It even goes up our steps and cleans. I had no idea that there was a pool vaccume that could clean like this one does. It cost a pretty penny, but 100% worth spending the extra money. The WIFI model makes it very easy to operate and schedule your cleanings. You will not be disappointed with the Dolphin Nautilus Plus!

I just checked. We purchased this in May 2020. I then bought a 2nd as a gift in June 2020. It's now June 2022 and this pool cleaner is INDISPENSABLE. If it stopped working I'd buy it again. It does an AMAZING job on our rectangular in ground pool. I see people asking about steps in the question. We've got 3 steps. I don't think there's any step specific logic in this, but yes...for our pool it does do steps. It climbs right up. It also scrubs the waterline. It's better than any pool cleaning I've ever done, or any professional has done for me. Nothing has broken, not even a filter. We always use the fine filters and I program the control so it auto-starts once/ day. It's awesome. It works under our solar cover and I leave it in the water for many days at a time, only pulling it out when we will be swimming. Love it!!

It is now one year since I bought the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus and I don't regret it. It makes my life a lot easier maintaining the pool clean. I do like the product however, I have Cabo deck that is about 12"-13" deep. When the cleaner climbs the wall adjacent wall , its tips on to its side quite often, be aware. Also, dont think this this is the end result for manual labor. You will still have to scrub once a week in the spots the robot missed whether its the tiles, floor, steps or walls. Over all great product. If I had to do it again, I would have bought the next level one. As for price, I think $700-$750 would be a fair price for what you get.

Setup was a bit annoying and lost Wi-Fi once. It's been fine since then. But man, this thing works really really well. Climbs up the walls, and even breaks the surface and looks like a real dolphin! It does a thorough job of picking up all leaves and bugs, and I don't have to remember to schedule it. Cleaning the filters is super easy. And it's so nice to be able to do that from the top. The filters seem a lot more effective than the earlier unit I had which lasted 7 years. Hop this one will last at least 5. Seems well worth it.

The Dolphin Nautilus does a pretty good job of keeping our pool clean. Because it uses a random pattern each time, it does miss some areas sometimes. As others have said, it has a hard time with the steps but that is easily solved by sweeping them prior to starting the dolphin. Our pool is about 32' in length and I'm glad we got the model with the longer cable. So far no problem with the cable getting twisted. One caution.... When removing the Dolphin from the pool, watch your back. Because it is full of water, it is very heavy! Once out it takes a couple of minutes for all the water to drain making it more manageable.

I have a 30,000 gallon inground vinyl pool that is very very fragile as it is 20 years old. This is the second robotic cleaner I have tried from Amazon. The first one primarily stayed in the deep end. This one hits the shallow and deep ends, walls, and runs for three hours straight. You can’t adjust the run time. I do sometimes run it twice because there are some missed spots. But I have a bad back and if it can clean 85 to 90% then that’s better than what I am able to take care of. It does not get stuck on the bottom drain and unlike the other one purchased on Amazon, I can continue to run the pool filter while using it. This is a huge deal because algae grows quickly in hot water that’s not moving. I’ve had it a month and use it every day. But I am keeping the box as others have suggested, just in case. I have no idea why it says you can schedule it when it clearly states to take it out of the pool when not in use. I think we all agree that leaving it in the pool with all the pools chemicals will shorten its lifespan. So I don’t know why they advertise that it’s programmable. Our daytime temperatures run between 80 to 110° so I think keeping it in the shade when in use and not in use is going to be the key to longevity.

I don't normally write reviews but for this purchase I had to. My old Dolphin got stuck on floor drains every cycle. Moved slowly and always had some sort of issue. We have an inground fiberglass pool. The model is a Sunday, made by Thursday Pools. This model has a lot of seating ledges. The Dolphin is very easy to use and clean and does a good job of cleaning the pool but struggles to clean ledges and anything near a corner. Do yourself a favor, plug it in and let it go while you get your brush and push the dirt off the ledges and out of the corners, this will give you a much cleaner pool when the cycle is finished. Probably works better in pools that have fewer ledges.

Very impressed with this pool vac so far. Not sure why we waited to purchase one. Only down fall is that you have to purchase the stand separate. We didn’t purchase it at first and within a day we knew we would have to have it get it or carry the vac and long cord everywhere. So glad we made the investment to purchase this robotic pool vac. Sad to see so many poor reviews. Our Nautilus CC Plus was purchased through Amazon 9/2017 and has been in daily use (yes, 365 days/year in CA where it never freezes) for nearly four years with ZERO repairs or hassles. We are still even using the original filter plates, though they may need replacement this year. Our previous pool cleaner was a Polaris 360 driven by a 1 HP pump, which needed $50-100 in maintenance parts every year. The savings in parts and energy use have paid for the Nautilus several times over. Pros: Low energy use (this is what drove our purchase, I calculated a 2 year payback over running the Polaris pressure pump and our energy bills definitely dropped when we switched to the Nautilus plus a variable-speed main pump) Quiet, no external pump noise VERY good at removing fine debris and leaves (won't handle big stuff like palm fronds, nor would I expect it to) Easy to clean It's nice to have the coarser filters for spring/fall cleanup and the fine pleated filters for the swim season As stated above, zero need for replacement parts or maintenance beyond cleaning so far Cons: Needs an electrical outlet near the pool which could be a deal breaker for some applications. Fortunately we have a shed with power available five feet away and I wired up a dedicated outlet myself. The cable runs from the controller across the concrete walkway to the pool, could cause a trip (but hasn't so far) It's a vacuum cleaner, it doesn't really 'scrub' the pool walls. Occasional brushing is still needed, especially if any algae has grown The price has gone up by 25% since we bought ours. Parts, should they be needed, are available but not cheap. The version we have has no real programmability. It starts when you push the button, runs for two hours, shuts down, and restarts at the same time every day (or every 2 or 3 days) for a week, then shuts down. Gone for a two week trip? Sorry, it won't run for the second week. Want to coordinate the cleaner run time with the main filter? Better be at the pool at the moment you want to cycle to start. Would an internal clock and programmable start time have been so hard to do? A $30 sprinkler timer has better controls. The new WiFi version looks keen, but the price is far higher so I can live with what we have. *This is why I knocked off one star.* A raccoon(?) apparently dragged the cable out of the pool one night and chewed on it. It left toothmarks but did no real damage and the cable is still in use. A big dog could easily destroy it. A replacement cable runs $300, so malamute owners beware! Overall, switching to the Nautilus has saved us $$$ over our previous pool cleaner, our pool stays clean, and we have been very satisfied with it. According to other reviews your mileage may vary.

This vacuum does an excellent job of cleaning the bottom, steps and walls. The only problem I encountered once so far (I have used it four time) is that it got hung up while going horizontally on the wall by the pool ladder. It would back up away from the ladder and then go forward into it again and again. I finally moved it away but have no idea how long it was hung up like this. As a result there was a small portion of the pool that it never had time to clean.

This macine has great suction. It had been about 2 months since my pool was cleaned last by a different robot. (It took that long for warranty on that one to say they couldn't fix it). I was worried when I placed this order…due to having no prior experience with a self contained pool cleaner. Totally worth the money! Easy to set up. Works perfectly. As soon as I placed it in the pool and turned it on, I could see a clear/clean line where the Dolphin ran. The only downside for me, is the system does not seem to complete an entire pool cleaning within the two hour run time so I typically run it twice so that it covers all areas. It also does not cover or run on the steps which is not a huge problem you just have to continue to sweep that area. Lastly, the app is great and has a setting where you can schedule daily cleanings.

I had the previous model of the nautilus. It finally broke down after 10 years of intensive usage every summer. I've just replaced with this new version which seems as well built as my last one but more convenient with the top-loading filter cartridges and the large handle. Here's hoping I get another 10 years. It cleans extremely well. Just give it time, clean the cartridges after each clean when you first open the pool, and then switch to the pleated filters once the debris is all out (these are a separate purchase). In the 9th year of use of my previous model I did a couple of minor repairs -- epoxied a separating basket and replaced the roller sponges -- but honestly I would say don't bother. Once things start to wear out it is getting to end-of-life and something major will likely break soon as it did with mine (controller board in the dolphin itself I believe). 10 years use for a product like this in the environment it is used in is exceptional in this day and age. I wish I could buy it without the power supply though. I built a dedicated controller box with transformer near to the pool that I control via wifi on my phone, so I have no use for the power supply (except to cannibalize the connector - but I did that on the last one so I really have no use for the new one :) )

The media could not be loaded. I live in Texas where we have intense rain storms and I get Cottonwood from the Cottonwood trees. I needed some thing that would catch all these tiny particles before they get to my pool filter. The before picture is right after an intense rain storm which flooded my garden beds into my pool. I ran my pump only to see a whole bunch of debris settle in the bottom so I let this thing have a go. This is the third cleaning in the video but keep in mind that yesterday there was mud, sticks and leaves in my pool even after my pool guy because we had a windstorm that blew more into the pool. The regular fillers have a first trap for big items like leaves and sticks. Then there are fine screens for the dirt and sand. This thing beats my Polaris. I was skeptical about this purchase because it’s quite expensive. However I do end up having to buy a new Polaris every 4 years and rebuilding it every year with parts to repair as needed. My Polaris ran 4 hours a day but did not get near the amount of junk this robot does. Rinsing the filters in this is much easier than cleaning out the bag in the old style pool cleaners. I’ve noticed I am getting mud in the filters, which means that it is really cleaning the source of my problem. My pool is 42,000 gallons and an irregular shape. While it won’t clean the spa, it does the lion’s share of the work. It even does a decent job cleaning submerged seats along the edge. I didn’t expect it to clean the shallow step in my pool but does the rest. Another thing I like is that my main pump doesn’t have to be running for this cleaner to run. That’s so helpful for getting the main drain clean of debris. What remains to be seen is the life of this product. I’m hopeful.

I had a Dolphin Deluxe 4 for 8 years, which performed very well. The power supply recently quit, and with replacing that, filter and rollers, I decided it was time to just go ahead and buy a new pool robot. With 8 solid years, I decided to stick with the brand. I have the new Dolphin Nautilus in the pool today for the second time. Performance is even better than the Deluxe 4. Suction and speed are better. So is clean up. The flat panel furnace-type filters come apart for easier cleaning and I get less spray-back in the process. We have a 35,000 gallon pool in Scottsdale, Arizona, where our biggest cleaning challenge is very fine desert dust that settles into the pool year-round. Both old and new Dolphins do a great job of filtering it out and giving us the kind of clean we want to swim in. Both models also do well at picking up leaves, flowers and long palm front pieces from the bottom.

So. We put an in-ground pool in this summer, a big one, 20' by 40', slide, heater, diving board, 12 ft. deep end, 3 stairs, and a safety ledge which runs the length of both 40' sides. The pool had been up and running less than a week when it became obvious I would have to have a pool cleaner, referred to from here on as a "sucky" (blame the name on my mother). First, I looked locally for a sucky, and YIKES! the prices were outrageous, between $1500-2500 for what appeared to be an average sucky, although some of them had tails that whipped around, and others a remote control, and still others a programmable chip to tell sucky when and how long to run, and others which were wearing animal costumes?. I quickly realized that most of these suckys were going to require the installation of a separate pump to use them, which we had not had installed, and really didn't want to. I also realized for servicing, warranty or repair purposes, I better buy a brand that could be serviced locally, even if I didn't buy locally. I narrowed my selection down to either a Dolphin or a Polaris model, both of which could be serviced locally, then began searching online. After a lengthy search and then a comparison of my final 3 choices, I went with the Dolphin N+ model, for the following reasons which were stated in the item description: Size and weight of item was manageable for a single individual to move, put in, and remove from pool. Did not need additional pump. Able to clean safety ledge, steps, walls, floor, no problem, 4WD. Came assembled, ready to use, with extra filters. Filters were easy to remove and clean. Extra long cord should allow sucky to clean all parts of my large pool with ease. Replacement parts were readily available. Warranty was available. Next day delivery FREE available. Price was VERY competitive. Reviews were favorable. Sucky came with a computer chip which would map the layout of the pool, including ledges and steps, insuring sucky would do a thorough job, every time he was used. Sucky would take less than 2 hours to clean entire pool, THEN TURN HIMSELF OFF. I was sold. Ordered sucky, and he arrived the next day, JOY JOY JOY! I threw sucky into the pool and watched with great anticipation for sucky to do his thing. Sucky did nothing. Sucky was broken, arrived with a broken front mounting bracket for his front sucky wheels, causing the wheel to fall off when he tried to do his job. DEEP DESPAIR. I immediately felt sick, thinking $700, arrived broken and %#$&!?@ to get returned and replaced. Despondent, I contacted Amazon. To my amazement, they sent a return shipping label and a new sucky THE VERY NEXT DAY. AND SCHEDULED A PICK UP OF BROKEN SUCKY at my convienence. REALLY HARD TO BELIEVE I KNOW, BUT TRUE. Even better, the new sucky is amazing, and every thing said about him is indeed true, if I was to complain about him at all, it would be that his ledge and stair work leaves behind a bit of sand (salt water pool, sand filter), a very tiny bit, and I'd advise that you also purchase the storage stand, which isn't included but is sold separately, it gives a place to store the battery off the ground during use, a place to wrap the cord, and a little seat for sucky to rest on when he's not at work, and nice big wheels to move the whole thing around, similar to a moving dolly, but made especially for sucky. CONCLUSION: love purchase, easy to return and replace, does a great job, even on large pools, and reasonably priced. 2020 UPDATE: I get lots of questions from people wanting updates on Sucky every pool season, wanting to know if Sucky is still doing his job. I’m happy to report Sucky still works like he did back when he first moved in, and in 6 years, we’ve never had to replace a part, or had any problems. 2022 UPDATE: thought I should check in to tell you all we are still using sucky in our pool, and sucky still does a fantastic job keeping the pool sparkling clean, fully 6 year after we purchased him. We have had only one issue, and it’s a recent one, the button to turn him on isn’t working all the time, you have to repeatedly push it to get it to work sometimes. I feel like that’s to be expected, he wasn’t made to last forever. 6 years though, that’s an exceptional time frame for something like this, just a great choice of pool cleaner, yay me!

The cleaning ability of this is fantastic. I've had a pool over 20 years and always felt these wouldn't clean as well as I do. Wrong, it even picks up sand which I couldn't get the old fashion way. I'm hoping I don't end up with one that quits after a couple of weeks because I love this thing, my back loves this thing. If you are unsure, go for it. I did so much research and most kept recommending this unit over others and if they didn't have it as first pick, it always showed up in top 3 with a more expensive dolphin being 1st. At first I was concerned bc it was coming up to the water line, the manual says it doesn't do the water line, but now I've been watching and apparently it does. Also spent a good amount of time in the same corner but I waited and it finally went on its way without assistance. Hopefully someone will see this if they have the same issue and are concerned but after watching it work and move out of places, I feel comfortable leaving it on a schedule cleaning

I must say, I am a first time pool owner. I have worked for a pool company for 14 years now and have always wanted a pool, so I finally took the plunge and installed an inground fiberglass pool with Hayward equipment and salt system. I have heard customers talk about the Dolphin products, the different models and which is the best for the best price. So I had to do some investigating myself. I looked at tons of reviews on this model as well as other Dolphin models and for what this machine does and the price compared to others, I always came back to this one and I took a chance on this one and so far I can say I am extremely pleased! I just received it and my pool is a new install. Even after being cleaned, there was still some fine red mud dust and concrete partials that just stayed on the bottom of the pool unless I stirred them up. I also had leaves from nearby trees that started to fall and I was always scooping. So I knew even tho we wouldn't get a swim season in, I had to go ahead and buy one. I ran just one cycle last night and boy what a difference. In two hours it got everything cleaned. As as you can see from the pictures, my pool has steps in the shallow and deep end as well as a safety lip around it. And what now is called "Flipper" didn't have one problem with climbing the steps or suction around the lip and zoomed right on down it and got everything. I was extremely happy and impressed. I look forward to having this as a must have for being a pool owner. Shipping was fast, nothing was damaged and it was packaged very well. The quick start guide was great and did just that, I was anxious to get started and I followed the steps and within 2 hours...A clean pool! I may just go home and run it for another cycle and sit and watch it :) I think any pool owner if you are gonna invest into anything for your pool, You must have a Robot cleaner! I look forward to seeing what this little baby will do in a full swim season. I will also edit and add to this review as I use it more.

Hassle to repair

Nautilus CC plus is great when it is working. This is the third one that we have purchased. However, every unit has failed during the warranty period. The only way to repair it is to send it to the repair center. This cost is born by the customer to mail the heavy unit. The repair center also needs the control unit, filters, etc even if they are not the problem. Adding additional mailing costs. Seems the least they can do is have a power supply, filters, control unit in the shop to save customers money on shipping. My current shipping costs are about 20 percent of a new unit and rising.

It works fine but our current one does not seem to climb the steps as well as our old one. This is our 3rd Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robot cleaner. They last about a year or so for each one. But we do use them about 4 to 5 times a week and we do not close our pool because we live in a hot sunny climate. Therefore these robots do really work hard for us. We also get a lot of hill burning in the area during the dry season, the robot does a good job and cleans the pool in no time. We have a 50 ft x 25 ft pool, takes the robot one cycle ( the third blue light, I think it is 3 hours) to clean everything. We have used another more expensive brand before we switched to this brand. we found this model is lighter to work with and easier on the pocket. They come with a spare set of filters but we never had to use the spare filters. The original filters outlast the robot itself. and we have 2 brand new wall controls that we never used from the old robots.

My pool cleaning company was charging nearly $800 a month. I recently retired and decided to DIY my 20x40 in ground pool. He said that this thing would not clean the pool. I always had small particles of sand, etc. in my pool after they came by for the typical 15-20 mins with the hammerhead vacuum I’ve been using this through the brutal fall leaf dropping season and it is absolutely amazing. Today I ran it and when I opened the pleated filter I found this piece of limestone rock (see photo) inside. Never thought it would pick up a rock. My pool has never been this clean, under contract. I worked for a pool company 40+ years ago. High school days and the pool vacs were crap. Not now do your self a favor. Do a little chemical balance research and buy this machine. It’s awesome.

The Good and the Bad, but no Ugly.

The Upside: I have an in-floor cleaner, that wasn’t quite cutting it, so I opted for this robotic cleaner. It seems to function as advertised. I have yet to discover what looks like a systematic pattern to the way it cleans the pool. It seems each time it is set up, the pattern is different. I had expected it to map out the pool, then very systematically move in some discernible pattern, yet if seems to rarely miss any area in the pool and picks up even small debris (e.g. sand). I have had no issues with major cord tangling, but there are some twists in the cord, that I reverse after every cleaning—not a big deal to turn the cord as it is being looped about for storage. The Downside: 1) I have a very large ledge at one end of the pool that is around 2 feet deep; It has an umbrella hole and was set up that way, in case you just wanted to sit In the water and not be completely submerged. It is an area that is about 8 by 8 feet. The first time I used the robot, I put it into the deeper part of the pool and it seemed to pretty much ignore the ledge. It would go up the side of the wall leading up to the top of the Ledge and then go back down. When I actually started the Robot on the edge, it then seemed to find it again, during cleaning. So that may be a useful tip to anyone with large stairs, to start the robot there. 2) Most of us buy this thing, because we don’t want to be manually vacuuming the pool. It seems to me, though in the end, there is still a bit of effort to using this thing. As far as this being vastly more time efficient, I’m not convinced. You have to mind it a bit; It seems it can on occasion get stuck in some corner of the pool. It probably depends on your pool, but I cannot just set it and forget it for 2 hours. While cleanup is easy, it does take place in stages, spreading out the total time involved. You pull the robot out, disassemble the filters, wash them out, then both the robot and the filters need time to dry. I’m thinking it is probably never a good idea to put something back in storage while it is wet. The sponge like material next to the tracks, needs to have the water squeezed out of them, and dry time here in Arizona with temps around 100 is still about an hour. Then everything needs to be reassembled and put back in storage—anything made of plastic makes a poor companion with the Arizona sun, so I try not to leave it outside for hours. I think when you add up all the time (set up, periodic checks to see if it is stuck, clean-up, dry time, reassembly and storage) you might do better time wise with just a manual vacuuming.

The media could not be loaded. * Vinyl Liner - I was concerned that a robot would damage the vinyl liner in our pool. (Our liner has some issues.) The robot has proved to be very safe with our liner. * Effectiveness - I'm 70. Still active, but tired of brushing down the pool daily. And if I skip some days, I get cloudy or green pool water. The first time this robot ran in our pool, the liner was obviously cleaner than I had managed the entire summer (robot arrived Sept. 8th, Sept. 20th now). The next day I ran it again, and I've never seen the liner cleaner. * I'm saving money on chemicals. It takes a lot of chemicals to clear up green water. My water has been clearer since I've been using the robot, and I'm only adding chlorine. * Weight - Pulling the robot out of the pool isn't hard, but the water inside the robot makes it heavier than when it is empty. I've been pulling it up in stages, so I don't lift the entire weight at one time. * This robot does not have a 'remote' control. Also, it does not "learn" your pool. But in my experience, it is covering the entire pool. It is doing a better job of that than I ever did. * It does have three 'programs' available on the power supply. Daily, every other day, and every third day. You can leave the robot in the pool IF YOU HAVE BALANCED THE CHEMICALS. (I didn't read that part until a day later. Fortunately, the pool was pretty close to balanced - chlorine was a ppm too high.) * READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before getting the robot ready to use. The stuff that looks like Styrofoam is part of the robot. It is needed to give the robot the right buoyancy to operate on the walls of your pool. * They say you need to clean the filters after each cleaning, but unless you are using the ultra fine filters you could probably get by for two or three cleanings unless you get a lot of junk in your pool. This would be helpful if your pool isn't used on a daily basis. For us, it is mostly when the grandkids visit. * Supposedly, this robot doesn't clean the waters edge. I've added a video of the robot in operation cleaning up to the waterline. Obviously, it isn't cleaning above the water line. * I still need to brush down the steps. I have seen the robot on the steps, but it isn't really very effective at cleaning them. I probably have forgotten something. This little window for entering the review makes it hard to go back and reread what I've written. Overall, I'm very pleased with the robot.

The media could not be loaded. I really like it, I does what it claims to do. It even climbs up the sides. The filters really pick up the stuff that lays on the bottom, we have sand that blows in, save the filter in the pool pumping unit. The filters in the cleaner are very easy to clean, pop them out, rinse them off and put them back in. There are two things I wish for, but I did not take anything off the review because I might be my fault and maybe it is in the manual, we our both retired seniors and can’t lift things like we used to. So the unit is heavy but we bought a DOLPHIN Universal Caddy for it so we can roll it around but once it is in the pool it is ok. Now taking it out of the pool it another thing. Someone said in a review that when the unit turns off it floats to the top, ours doesn’t seem to float. The instructions says do not pull on the blue line attach unit so if it turns off there is no way get to the edge of the pool unless you get in the pool bring it from the bottom. And last lifting it out of the pool you need some muscle, so if you are younger it shouldn’t be a problem. I wish they had some type of unit that you could hook on the handle when it stopped to get it to the top of the water, something someone can invent! This doesn’t take anything away from the unit but there are people what may need to know this.

Shipment and delivery was very fast from the seller. Ordered on July 21 and delivered on July 23. On Aug 1, the power supply stopped working and was tripping breakers or tripping GFCI outlets. I contacted Maytronics Customer Service and they promised to ship me another power supply. I received confirmation of the Purchase Order of the Aug 2. On Aug 11, I contacted customer service again to inquire about the status and shipment of my power supply. I was told that it would ship Aug 12, 15, or 16, she didn't know because their trucks are very small and they are using a 3rd party trucking company. When the pool cleaner worked, it worked well. However, at the time of this writing it's Aug 15 and I haven't been able to use my cleaner for 2 weeks. Now it is Aug 18th. I called Maytronics this morning and now the power supply is out of stock. It went from "waiting on the trucks" to out of stock. Estimate to be in stock is another two weeks. Update! Sunday August 28th and no word from Maytronics!!!

I used to vacuum the pool manually weekly which took about an hour all said and done. Now I vacuum manually only one time at the beginning of the season and let the dolphin do the rest of the work all season. It isn’t perfect but does a pretty great job. I use the fine debris filter and just clean it with a sprayer attachment on the hose. Saves me at least 45 minutes per week minimum and the pool is always clean and welcoming. I am on the third season using it frequently and it still works great. It has even survived sucking up a few dog toys!

This pool vacuum pickup everything in the entire pool (about 18,000sq ft), in including the salt deposits (saltwater pool). Very easy to clean, just pull out the filters, disassemble and spray with water and then rinse the vacuum. It even cleans along the waterline, even though some reviews said it did not. My only ding is the app and remote capabilities....mine never seems to connect using the app, but i believe the app is kind of useless since you have to pull it out the water and clean it anyway after each use.

This product took me the longest time to read people’s reviews and compare a lot of different products. Overall, it is a great product and I really want to buy it earlier. The product basically reduce 95% of the manual work of cleaning my pool. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: 1. It has 2 ultra fine filters come with the box. Note that 2 fine filters are in the machine, so you can replace them by yourself. 2. The machine work in two directions , and it has TWO filters. At first, I thought it only has one filter, so another filter was not cleaned for 1 month until I found it. 3. The ultra fine filter can clean almost everything. My pool bottom has a lot of small sands, and the ultra fine filter can pick up almost all of them. My neighbor recently was building a new fence. And my pool bottom is full of small wood, just like dirt in your home, and if you brush it the wood dust will just disappear in the water. Even that small dust can be picked up by the ultra fine filter. So I am really happy about that. Note that if you are using fine filter, then it can probably pick up 50% of that kind of small dust. 4. It can climb the walls. My poll is like a bowl, so I do need a robot that can climb the wall. See my picture. Since it can climb the wall, it may go to stairs through the wall and clean your stairs if your stair is wide enough. 5. If it get stuck, it can release itself. The robot often get stuck on my pool stairs. When it can’t move for about 30s, it will make itself float and move to another place. Cons: 1. The routing is pure random. My pool is not that big but it often miss some places. Especially the corners and the deepest part of my pool. I think it may work better for a flat pool. See my picture. So sometimes I need to run another cycle. 2. Actually it can’t clean the water line efficiently. The robot can climb the wall and go above the water line. But it can’t suck the dirt into the filter, it just brush the dirt into water surface. 3. Some sands always remain in the machine, you need to pour water into the machine to clean it. I actually don’t know how sands go to the inner part of the machine. 4. Can’t remove some strong algae. I think it’s suction power is not enough to remove some algae that are alive for a while. So have to brush them. So be careful if you want to use it to mainly remove algae. Overall, I recommend this product to everyone who is suffering from cleaning pool using pump and hose.

The media could not be loaded. After watching many videos and reading tons of reviews about so many different robots I pulled the trigger on this one. It is to replace a 7 year old Aquabot Turbo T2. First, if you are coming from an older robot, the top-access debris s]compartments are far superior and so much easier to access vs the mesh bags underneath the robots (like the Aquabot). The motor is very strong and it easily cleans the pool, quickly and efficiently. Keep one thing in mind; if you watch many comparison videos between the CC Plus and other models, they will state that this model does not clean the waterline. It’s simply not true! Mine goes all the way up the wall and scrubs the water line nicely! Don’t hesitate to get this model, and save yourself hundreds of dollars vs the more expensive ones that claim to “scrub the water line”. By the way, the anti-tangle swivel fitting on this model is a huge plus. My Aquabot cord was a daily tangled mess to deal with. The CC, no tangles at all! If your on the fence between this model vs the non CC, get this one as the other does not have the anti-tangls fitting. If you’ve never had a robot before, you’ll learn the hard way if you don’t get one that has this feature!

I was excited to get this robot my son has one and it works perfectly. I got it today and an hour later I had it in the pool ready to clean for a Memorial day weekend party. No such luck. The power supply is dead out of the box. I called the company Maytronics and they were helpful and will get me a new power supply free in "about a week". I have not gotten a ticket number, shipping notice or any email confirmation at all so we will see.... The power supply arrived in 6 days which counts the memorial day holiday, so that was good. It has cleaned the pool perfectly.

This robot keeps the bottom of my in ground pool spotless, it is a square pool with a deep end and some stairs, about 15k gallons. It struggles sometimes on the stairs, but that is understandable, given the robots size. I leave it in the pool all week to let it maintain the cleanliness, and take it out for chemistry adjustments, weekend pool use, and robot cleaning. Cleaning is a snap and while the robot is a bit heavy to pull out when lifting out of the pool, it is not that hard once you let the water drain a bit. I wish there was a built in way to store it upside down when out of the water, but I can make something with some 2x4 and styrofoam I guess. The programming part is not very intuitive. It has a few modes, and I presume that they mean once every 24 hours, twice every 24 hours and so on, or is it once every day, once every two days? I dunno, wish it made more sense. Overall, pricy, but gets the job done, beats the heck out of doing it myself

I purchased a suction cleaner for $200 and it worked well but since I only have 1 skimmer I would lose the function of the skimmer and I still had to deal with the hose and cleaning out the skimmer and backwashing etc. When the suction vacuum went bad last year, I purchased a Polaris 360 side wall pressure cleaner about a month ago. I was excited since I have 3 output ports so I could use the skimmer and the Polaris vacuum at the same time!! The Polaris 360 would go in circles, never leave the deep end. I also came home and found it floating in the pool!! I called Polaris and they could not help so back to Amazon it went. Next I researched the robotic pool cleaners and found the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. It arrived, I read the easy setup paper that came with the cleaner, I cut the packing plastic off the front and rear rollers, checked the inside filters that were already installed. Put the vacuum in the water, hooked up the blue power cable to the power supply timer. Plugged the timer into the GFI outlet on my house. Pressed the power button on the timer/power supply and away the vacuum went. My pool is a oval in ground vinyl pool 34 feet x 18 feet its 8-1/2 feet deep and 4 ft in the low end. This vacuum went up the walls, went around the edge , even over the skimmer, down into the deep end over the bottom drain and into the low end. It tried to go up the steps but couldn't do it. In approx 2-3 hrs the pool was crystal clear!! I opened the top of the cleaner, removed the 4 filters that came straight out easy, then I un-clipped the filters and cleaned then with my hose. Finished in 2 minutes and could not believe how much gunk this vacuum found. Reinserted the now clean filters and I'm ready for the next pool cleaning. OMG, this is an incredible machine! I put my manual vac and hose back into the garage. No more vacuuming for me! I will let the Dolphin Nautilus do it!! This vacuum is like having another filter roaming my pool. I bet I will not have to back wash very much anymore. Will update by the end of the summer. END OF 1st SUMMER UPDATE: WOW what a great summer with this easy clean pool cleaner. I wanted to give a tip, I could find anything that tells me how to winterize so it works perfectly next summer. So I emailed the MFG and they told me exactly what to do. They said keep the unit in an area that does not go below freezing and turn upside down and keep the weight of the machine off the rollers. Did exactly that and put the unit in my basement. So we will see next year! START OF SUMMER 2021 (3rd year) Vacuum Robot is still working perfectly. Found a small hole in one of the clear filters. No problem ordered a new set of filters on Amazon today and I still have another set of the paper filters that came with the robot that I am using. The beauty of this robot is you do not have to backwash you filter as much because this vacuum collects all the large and small dirt in the pool. Best Vacuum ever!

I received my order yesterday and it came quickly. This is my second Dolphin robotic cleaner. My first one broke after 6 years of hard work. I live in south east Georgia so our pool season is longer than many. I thought the first cleaner held up well so I immediately ordered a new one from the same company. I opened the box yesterday and started it up. It was doing a great job. It was even cleaning the entire waterline which my first one did not do. So today I went to start the cleaner again because I hadn't set the schedule yesterday and the power supply would not come on. Ugg! Really, it quit after one use. Now I know things can happen but that was really disappointing. I called Maytronics (I didn't want to return it through Amazon because the cleaner itself was fine) and they registered my warranty and are shipping out a new power supply and should be here in five days. I will update my review after I see how the new power supply works. Maybe I just got a rare bad unit. Please note when I called Maytronics, I was speaking to a actual person within 90 seconds. She did some trouble shooting with me and then said they would be sending me a new power supply. I appreciate the customer service.

After 15 months, my robot stopped working. It would turn on, go forward and backward, then shut down. I tried all the troubleshooting techniques that I found online. I contacted Maytronics. The robot has a 30 month warranty!!! I had to pay to ship it to them (small inconvenience of about $40) but they returned it 2 weeks later with a new motor and parts. Way to stand behind your product Maytronics. I love this robot.

Great overall design, easy to use in the pool. Cleaning it is a bit of a chore though. Have to remove two filter containers and take them apart. I can't get the gunk out by opening them and tapping them against the deck, so I bring the containers inside and wash them in the kitchen sink. Seeing that we use our Dolphin 3 or 4 times a week, this little added chore is a bit annoying. That being said, it does a great job cleaning the pool. There's only 1 spot on the walk-in steps that it can't seem to clean.

Initially in love with this thing, then after 5 weeks it suddenly stopped functioning. After some troubleshooting we corrected the issue on our own, but I’m now skeptical of how long this thing will last. After reading others’ experiences trying to get it serviced, it’s apparently a nightmare requiring paying for shipping and long waits if you can even get it fixed at all. I ordered the pool cleaner and it arrived less than a week from the order date which was ahead of schedule. I waited about 30 days before I decided to write a review. I have owned several other pool cleaners that were less expensive models from other manufacturers and this one is by far the best. It works exactly as advertised. I have a 16‘ x 32‘ irregular shaped saltwater inground pool, I simply drop it in the pool, set it for a two hour cleaning cycle, and let it do its job. This dolphin does climb the walls and has yet to get stuck anywhere in my pool while the other cleaners that I owned couldn’t make it over my main drain. My pool is always clean after one cycle. I always let the robot sit in the pool for about 10 minutes after it stops to cool down, then I remove it and clean it as well as the filters immediately. I love how easily the filters come out of the unit and can be taken apart and cleaned. I have learned from other pool cleaners that you never let these sit in saltwater or chlorine all day long as it will degrade the parts and the motor. My dolphin is stored in a box in the yard that is watertight and I store the controller inside my home to keep it dry at all times. I would highly recommend this pool cleaner to anyone that is looking to not pay a pool company to come weekly. I will write another review at the end of August once I’ve had this for three months. Ok this is my second check in 1 year later. I have to say that this is the best pool cleaner that I have ever owned and I highly recommend it for everyone. I will check in one last time at the end of the summer which is after my second season of using this robot. My third review on 8/14/2021 over 2 years from when I purchased it. The Robot is in perfect condition still. It looks just about the same as the day it arrived and still cleans my pool as advertised. I'm extremely pleased with this Dolphin pool cleaner and when this one finally does die. I will surely buy another similar type robot from them. 3rd review almost 3 years later. The robot is still working perfectly. The transformer blew out, I called Maytronics and about six weeks later they sent me a new one. I’m sure the delay was supply chain related. It was still under warranty.

I really like this product, but felt compelled to downgrade it because of the recurring issues we’ve had with the treads coming off track. We purchased it in May and had to send it back twice this summer to be worked by the factory maintenance. The treads started jumping off track after about 3 weeks (and one week after we had tossed the shipping box). Customer care had this story about damage for an entire lot in shipping from their plant in Israel and encouraged us not to return it to seller as we would run the risk of getting another damaged one from the lot. The free shipping label helped, but the box, packaging and insurance ran $60. They serviced it very quickly and we had it back in less than a week. But, again, the treads started coming off after three weeks. Customer service had us ship it back (no free shipping label after we were past the return period for the seller). I had the box, but shipping cost $38.00. Again, though, it was was “fixed” quickly and back within a week. We’re able to use it three or four weeks before we closed our pool, but have had no further problems so far. We will open the pool early next year to try to make sure it is actually fixed before the warranty runs out. [Follow up note: the company warranty repairs were successful! Few if any problems last summer and none so far this year. ] The other issue to consider before purchasing is that the control box appears designed to preclude mounting to a wall or other surface. Instead, it only fits into their carts specifically designed as a caddy to store the box and robot. So, plan on spending another $150 if you purchase this robot. I wish the original shipping box had just included a simple base to set the robot on when not in use (recommended to avoid damaging the rollers) and that the slots on the control box allowed mounting to a wall. Other these issues, we’ve been very pleased with how well the robot cleans the pool and how simple it is to operate and to clean. The filters are easy to access and remove and are easily rinsed. The frequency for cleaning is dependent on the volume of leaves and debris. If the problem with the treads coming off the tracks has been resolved, I’d give the product a 4.8 star rating.

I do wish the filters were a little thicker and picked up more dirt. I noticed when going over a pile of dirt it will blow it up through the top of the robot so I have to spot clean with another small pool vacuum.

I have previously owned two Aquabots and an Aquabot T2, and (so far) this is a much superior machine. It does a great job cleaning my 16x34 pool and has not gotten stuck on the floor drain covers. The cable does not get twisted up as happened with most older robots. The debris screens / compartments are very easy to clean. The only question is how easy it is to service / disassemble, but I hope not to find out about that too soon. Definitely recommend.

Works Great, But a Couple of Issues

I'll start by saying it works great. Very pleased. And I'd buy it or a similar item again. I travel a lot and don't need to vac or leaf rake or brush the pool when I return any more. It does the walls, in fact sometimes you'd think it's climbing out of the pool at the waterline. I have it set up to run every day in the early morning around 6 AM...My wife takes care of the scooping floating leaves and cleaning out the skimmer baskets while I am gone and the Dolphin finishes the task. Coupled with a saltwater Cl generator, my pool is practically maintenance-free now. Worked easily right out of the box. Easy to clean the filters and they have a decent capacity, so if your pool is relatively clean to start, it'll run for two weeks before the filters get anywhere near full. As long as there are not tons of leaves falling into the pool and going to the bottom. The key is keeping the leaves from sinking, so a daily skimming with the pole is very helpful. Also, leaves on the top like to cling to the cable between the Bot and the Control Box. What can you do? My MAIN concern is how long it will hold up. Bought the Caddy, should have been part of the original deal. ISSUES: It leaves black marks on the pool marcite. They don't look like they can be removed..... :) Gets stuck on the love seat at the deep end. It's happened twice. I'll look outside and that's where it ended up. Who knows how long it sat there trying to move before the timer shut off....The control module logic is a bit goofy. If I want to run it again on the same day it ran earlier, you have to power off and restart and then that is the reprogrammed new time it will start next day.....should have a one-touch button that runs it for a cycle and does not break the daily program to start at 6 AM. The fact that the module is not water PROOF, but water RESISTANT (useless) is not good. So I bought a $24 Amazon Prime Deck box (similar to Suncast) and drilled two 1 1/4" holes on either side wall at the bottom....placed the Control Module in the box and it stays very dry. And excess cable can be wrapped in there as well. Nice. The power cable to the AC supply is too short. Had to buy a 15" extension cord, wrapped it up nicely with electrical tape at the plug interface. Anyway.... the PROs greatly outweigh the CONS. I'd give it 5 stars except for the "nits" noted. Very happy with it. I just hope it lasts. And I noticed they say in the "manual" (very poor) that the CL needs to stay at or below 4 ppm, so take it out when you shock the pool.

3 years and still going strong

I love this pool cleaner. This is our third year using this pool cleaner and it still works great. It has saved us $1000s in weekly pool cleaning fees and hours of our own time. We rarely have to do any manual pool cleaning since we started using our dolphin. We have a 16x32 in ground vinyl liner pool and our Dolphin pretty much lives in it all summer long. We have it set to run 2 times per week and it is perfect for us. Our pool has a lot of trees (including pine trees) around it and this does a great job getting all the leaves and pine needles out of the pool. We are still using the original filters that came with it but are thinking we may get replacement ones this year.

I researched pool cleaners for years before purchasing this one. I read the reviews and most were very positive so I took a chance and ordered. I received the Dolphin cleaner on Tuesday. Opened the box, hooked up the cord, placed in pool and let it do its magic. It was honestly that easy. Our pool was fairly clean but the little bit of stuff that was in it was completely gone after the first round. I works amazingly and trust me coming from someone that has been cleaning the pool for 7 years with a manual vacuum - there is no comparison. It is a large purchase but well worth the money.

Great Suction - But gets hung up

We have a modest size pool that has two entry steps in one corner. The unit does a great job of cleaning the bottom and sides of the pool but you really have to baby sit it because it tends to get hung up on the steps and needs a nudge to get traction so that it can move away. It tends to tip sideways on the steps so that both rollers are off of a solid surface and when that happens, it just sits there and spins it’s wheels. The other thing that I have noticed is that it will tend to lift itself about half way out of the water and run along the coping of the pool. Doesn’t do it all the time, but will probably do it 15 to 20 times during a two hour cleaning cycle. I reported this to the company (sent them a video) and was told that it is normal for it to do this. My concern is premature ware on the brushes and rollers - we’ll see.

Our new Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus worked great for 2 weeks cleaning pool bottom and walls but then stopped working. Called the manufacturer Maytronics and was on hold for over 30 minutes. I was told that I had to return to a service center for repairs and I had to pay to ship. Cost was $115.00. The manufacturer replaced the defective motor unit and it was returned in 2 business days. Very happily with their Customer Service and hopefully this new unit will work well.

No regrets on this investment. Awesome product.

This pool robot is awesome. I’ve had my pool for 9 years prior and only wonder why I didn’t invest in this 8 years ago! It’s so totally worth the investment that I have ZERO regrets about spending the money. The whole process takes about ten minutes of my time and my pool is now always sparkling clean. It is keeping my waterline free of the scum, the bottom is sparkling, and the bottom two of my three steps stay clean. My top step just isn’t deep enough with water for the robot, but that’s fine. A quick spray from the hose washes the dirt down to the lower steps. And in TEN minutes MAX! I connected the cord from the robot to the power box and plugged it in (first use only). Each time after: I place the robot in the water and walk back to my pump house to hit the start button. Watch it for awhile because I am still intrigued. After it’s 2.5 hours or so of cleaning time, I return and pull the robot out of the water, letting it drain at the pool side for a moment. I snap open the filter tops (2 of them), slide the filters up and out, snap the “s” hooks to open and remove the sides of the filter from the main filter part. Then I spray each of the 6 filter parts off with the water hose, reassemble and snap “s” hooks closed and replace the filters into the robot. I place the robot into my cart, and wrap the cord neatly around the cart handle. Finally, I roll the cart back into my pump house. It’s so easy it’s idiot proof! FYI: After reading the reviews for the “real” cart ($134), I decided to buy a $58 muck cart. It’s awesome and the cord is so flexible that it easily wraps around the muck cart handle. No need to spend the extra when reviews say it doesn’t hold the cord anyway. The robot fits perfectly into the base of a muck cart and the wheels are easy to maneuver on any surface. Also, my nephew has an inground pool slightly smaller than mine and bought a Dolphin that was $200 less, but I feel it’s crucial to get the correct size for your pool. Not taking a chance on such an investment of saving $200 for a shortage of 5 feet for fear it wouldn’t reach. He loves his $599 and I love my $799 robot. You get what you pay for. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I used the pool cleaner for almost 3 1/2 y on Aruba in a 20000 gallon salt pool and had some mechanical issues along the way. The first year it worked fine, except for getting stuck at the stairs many times so I couldn’t get it through a whole cyclus while being away. Also the cleaner seems to prefer parts of the pool and skips other parts so parts of the pool stay dirty and a second runs is necessary. Cleaning is done very easy. Unlike an iRobot vacuumcleaner, it lacks memory of where it’s been or better said where it hasn’t been. After more then a year parts are showing to degrade. Tracks running off, bearing damaged (easy replaceable btw), powercord degrading (high price to replace imo). After 3 1/2y it stopped working as the power unit broke. For my it’s value of its money because it saved me a monthly payment of a poolservice but I thought it would last longer and looking for replacement parts I believe they are to expensive compared to buying a whole new robot. As a new option I try to find a option with less (electrical) parts which break and easier and cheaper to replace. Hopefully this will last a longer time!

Like most pool owners, I have stairs at the shallow end with a railing in the middle. The Dolphin climbs up the stairs and wraps itself around the railing at which point it goes nowhere. Do you have a suggestion as to how I can prevent this from happening?

Update 3/21/22 from 1 star to 4 stars. I have been so frustrated that this robot was running tilted and not cleaning properly that I was going to buy a new one (different brand). But the research kept showing this model as one of the best. So I reached out to the service department again. The problem - the 1st float was too close to the robot. So I removed it and now the robot runs flat again. I never did glue in the weights mentioned below. So why not 5 stars? When the robot was sent in for this problem back in 2021, it was sent back to me with the 1st float removed and the 2nd float moved a little closer to the robot. The paperwork said nothing about adjusting the floats. So when I received it back with one float missing (but still in the box), I put it back on. Had they simply told me what they did in 2021, and why, instead of just telling me nothing was wrong and the robot runs fine, I would have saved myself a lot of aggravation. I think that's worth losing one star. Besides, it still spends too much time trying to climb the stairs and does get stuck there every once in a while. Update 8/3/21 down from 2 starts to 1 star - Sent it back to the manufacturer to figure out why it wouldn't run flat on the pool surface and to see if it had anything to do with the 2 missing foam wheels (climbing rings) that ripped. They sent the unit back after running it in a tank for a few minutes and said nothing is wrong. They didn't even notice the missing climbing rings. This is terrible service for something so expensive. I'm going to have to glue in some weights on the side that will not stay flat. 2020 2 stars - It worked pretty good for the first 16 months, although I doubt it ever mapped out the pool - it spent too much time trying to get up the stairs. A few times it even got stuck. The last two months it's not been running flat on the surface; it's sort of tilted while it's running. So it's not cleaning properly anymore. For this much money, this cleaner should work correctly for a very long time.

Cleans the pool very well. I upgraded to after market filters to clean up algae. I would suggest the manufacturer include them with purchase. Not overly heavy but a bit of a struggle for an 80 year old to lift from pool.

Unfortunately, only lasted 2 seasons until power supply quit working. Bought another power supply for season 3 and it quit working before the end of this season. It cleaned great while it was working. But to have spent 750 than another 200 and only last 3 seasons. A bit of a disappointment.

Pretty solid robot, it’s my third Dolphin. However, this one works very well, but the box came in a little damaged and the winter storage cap was snapped lose from the charging supply. I am sure they will send a new one, but they don’t open until Tuesday because of Memorial Day,.. some of you may say three, yes three, the one that is broken will be sent out for repair because these robots are essential when it comes to a 35,000 gallon pool and freshly opened. Without an operating pool cleaner it makes opening your pool a nightmare. I will now have a backup, for all future problems that may occur. By the way- Amazon was great, they shipped a day early and within a day my was perfect.

I was hesitant to buy this cause my pool doesn't get that dirty and vacuuming isn't THAT big of a deal. Am so glad I decided to get it. I've had it for a few years and it is incredibly easy to use, clean and store. Gets the pool cleaner than I ever did. Nothing bad to say about it. My pool is pretty big 50x24 in ground so dragging out the vacuum is a huge PIA. I drop this little guy in, go do something else, come back in a few hours and the pool is spotless. Takes about 2 min to clean Would recommend

Works exactly as advertised. I put mine in the pool in the evening before bed and let it run a cycle while we sleep. We wake up in the morning to a clean pool ready to use. It climbs the sides of the pool with ease and even the steps give it no trouble what so ever. Cleaning the waste collection cartridges is as simple as rinsing out the debris. It has three different presets for run cycles which I do not find to be of any use since I take it out and unplug it after every cleaning cycle.

First Impression is that this unit really delivers. We have an indoor salt water pool that we keep at about 87 degrees. We also run the pool pump at half speed which is not enough to satisfactorily run a normal pool crawler cleaner. But my electric bill is really low. The pool generates a lot of fine debris, mostly grey, that I think is dead algae. We try to keep chlorine above 3 ppm to control the algae growth. I was using a wire pool brush and moving the debris to the pool drain/pump return. Then I would occasionally run a pool vacuum. Frankly I was never satisfied with this system. Then I came across these robot cleaners that run independently from pool pump. Read all the reviews and chose this unit. Got the unit today ( only took 3 days!) and put it in pool for it’s first run. Operated exactly as described, took exactly 2 hours. Our pool has floating covers, I left one of the covers on, covering half of the pool so I could view the robot go crazy. The robot was not fazed by the floating cover, it continued on its merry way. I inspected and cleaned the filters and was very pleased to see a bunch of grey debris that has left the pool and not ended up on the pool filter. Update Had the unit over a year and continue to be impressed. It does an excellent job on pool surface. We have a Pebblesheen surface that had some ingrained black spots/areas from past algae attacks, this cleaner has actually polished the surface and those imperfections have disappeared. The literature says it will not travel the top edge wall at the surface but I can see it will travel about 6 feet and then go back down the side wall. I also drop it into the in ground spa for 10 minutes where it picks up all the minor debris. I do recommend buying the carrier for the unit as it helps with managing the cable and providing neat storage. I should have bought the unit and carrier together as I think there is a discount together.

The media could not be loaded. We had info overload when picking a robot and considered buying various models but after reading countless reviews we went with this model as it was always in top 5 and has been a great choice. Easy to operate, clean and it does a really good job of picking everything from leaves, sand and even branches. Also on a lot of reviews we read it said this model did not clean waterline. Well ours does and video is attached to prove it. I got the robot, cover and universal caddy all for under 1200 plus tax. So far we are really happy with it. Only con I would say is it does not do a good job on steps but in speaking with various pool pros none of the robots do. It gets up on steps just doesn’t do as well but rest of pool is really clean. Got this for our future in ground pool but are using it on our above ground now, this thing climbs inverted walls and along the inflatable ring, it’s not easy to get out of a above ground pool because it’s full of water and needs to drain before it’s light enough to lift out, it’s super easy to clean and dose a great job of cleaning the pool, the remote is another story, mi e did not come with instructions so I have no idea how to set up a schedule for it, otherwise I just throw it in and hit the power button and it does the whole pool.

After putting up with a Polaris 360 for way to long, I happily replaced it with the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus. The pool was filthy and had a heavy ring of grit around the bottom of the circular deep end, plus the entire pool bottom needed a good cleaning. The Dolphin was in the water within a few minutes of its arrival -- heavy grit filters in place -- and did a remarkable job needing only one filter rinse. We have a 22' x 38' free form pool with a circular deep end and a rectangular shallow end. It has a vinyl liner, steps, swim out and no 90 degree corners. I put the fine filters in the next day and ran it again, even though the pool was cleaner than it had ever been, and was surprised at the amount of dirt and grit it picked up. It does a good job with the walls and coping, and actually goes up into the swim out which before I always had to clean manually. I don't understand how the cleaver clean system works since it appears to be random but it did a great job of cleaning the entire pool in only 2 hrs. Hi highly recommend this product but do suggest you get the caddy for it as well: not necessary but it makes storing pool side much neater. UPDATE: I've had the Dolphin now for about 5 weeks and am still very happy with my purchase. I use it every 2-3 days as needed and it always does a good job at cleaning the entire pool in about 2 hrs. A couple comments: 1st, separating marketing hype from reality, the cord absolutely does tangle however the swivel connector near the end of the cord does its job beautifully so line tangling does not interfere with performance. I only mention this because trying to neatly roll up the cord on deck is a daunting task made much easier with the stand. I find it best to unplug the cord from the controller, pull it out straight and then coil it onto the stand. I then plug it back in so it's ready for the next use. 2nd. it goes into the shallow swim out several times each cleaning and occasionally (not every cleaning, not even every other cleaning) gets stuck needing help to get out. Personally I don't find this to be a big problem. Finally, the Dolphin can be programmed to run every day, every 2nd day or every 3rd day. I don't find this helpful since it does not have a clock setting so if I wanted it to run at say 5am I would have to put it in the water at 5am and select an option. And according to the manual the setting is only good for 7 days. So, again, I don't find this feature helpful but I don't leave the cleaner in the pool anyway so I have no need it.

I've been a pool owner for just 2-1/2 years, but this is by far the best robotic pool cleaner available. I run it before the pool pump starts up in the morning and after the pump shuts off in the evening, and the bottom of the pool is as pristine as a 25-year-old in-ground lined pool can be. I've notice I have less to skim off the top, as well, and attribute this to the robot's ability to "climb" along the pool's edge half in the water and half out. The two filter elements (basically, two tall rectangular boxes with plastic filter screens on the sides; see their picture) slide out without fuss for easy cleaning. The unit comes with two sets of filters; one for regular cleaning and another that's highly-filtered (I use this one during pollen season). This model comes with a two pair of climbing-assist wheels (two in the front, two in the rear; see their photos, they're white and close the the ends of the rollers), which are soft and wore out on mine after about 10 months, but I was able to replace them myself with no problem. In time I no doubt will have to perform other routine maintenance, but expect it will be just as easy. I really do love this product! 12August2020 Update. I wrote the above review about six weeks ago. Last week, my robot stopped working. I took it apart, and discovered one of the track/treads had come off a wheel guide, so I put everything back into it's proper place, but to no avail: in the pool the robot moved maybe a foot and stopped. I called tech support, and was directed to "re-start" the computer/motor unit: that is, to take the robot out of the water, place it on the ground upside-down, and press the "on" switch. As it did underwater right-side-up, the treads moved in one direction for about three seconds, and then nothing. The tech told me the treads should move in one direction and then the other during the re-start process and, because they didn't, to send the robot and power supply back to them for repair. (Yippee, it's still under 30-month warranty!) I am delighted to report my robot was back in our pool and working in SIX DAYS!!! So, I'm every bit as happy with the Maytronics service department as I am with my robot.

Yes, we call it our Poolboy! He does an amazing job of cleaning the floor and sides of our pool. The App that I use is connected to Siri so all I have to say is "Hey Siri, Clean My Pool! At that she contacts the Poolboy and he starts cleaning! Just. Like. That. We had the high end Polaris which costs much more than the Dolphin and it failed during week two with a hard failure which caused it to have to be returned. The Dolphin cleans as good or better than the Polaris for much less $$'s. Get the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus and you will not be disappointed.

This is my first pool robot purchase, so I was nervous about what I'd get for the price tag. For reference, I have a 26k gallon in-ground with an older vinyl liner. I also had an algae explosion from a busted chlorinator and a worn out sand filter, so while I fixed those two, I threw this in to get a head start. With the fiber filter panels installed, it trapped all of the debris I'd have wanted it to get with a net and vacuum, and trapped a remarkable amount of the algae, considering what it was up against. It's not a magic fix - As much algae as the dolphin trapped, it still blew a fair amount into suspension, so I've had to get chlorine levels back up, and run the replenished sand filter for a couple of days following. With an extra dose of algaecide, and some clarifier (which I normally don't use) we're back to about 95% clean walls, and about 90% normal water clarity. But here's the bottom line: I didn't have to do ANY manual vacuuming to get here. And I suspect that with regular use through the season, I'll be down to vacuuming only a few times in a season, as opposed to twice/week. Now, a tip on the weight and storage: a lot of folks will tell you that you need the caddy/rack. That's probably true if you want to minimize the effort of lifting and storing it, and especially if you want to bring it fully indoors every night. But I'm cheap and in my 30s, and lifting it in and out of the water, while it requires some thought, is EASILY doable. I also want to run it daily, and have a safety fence between me and the outlets/storage areas, so here's what I'm doing for storage: I cut a pool noodle in half, and I sit the unit on it, such that the foam wheels aren't bearing weight. Then, I put a large Rubbermaid container over the unit. So I've got simple protection from the elements, and still have drainage and air flow underneath. The only thing that remains to be seen is longevity. Other reviewers say that repair and replacement parts are a hassle, but if it lives for 3+ seasons, it's worth the time savings over manual vacuuming.

I have used for 2 weeks now. It picks up larger debris great. Does not pick up dirt. It kicks it back into the water. Living in west Texas this is not good! My former dolphins had cloth bags for filters. They were a pain to wash, but did the job. Very disappointed in the filters on this new model.

I unboxed it and had it cleaning my pool in under 19 minutes. I love that it works independent of my pool system meaning that I don’t have to clean my filter as much. The filters are super easy to clean . It moves freely throughout the pool and does a great job cleaning even the sides. I don’t know why I ever fought with hoses and other traditional pool vacuums. This robot pool vacuum is hose free and is the only the way to go and I love that I can control it from my phone. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes to take care of their own pool but wants to do so in a way that is effective and enjoyable.

I was so skeptical about this robot doing a good job on all of my angles in the pool. I am so impressed at how well it works. The first few days I just watched it go back-and-forth sucking up all of the pollen on the bottom of the pool! It even climbs the walls and although it says it does not get the waterline it did sucking up all the debris from pine trees and birch trees!!! I highly recommend this product!

I'm feeling disappointed, but I have it set to clean once a day and every day it picks up sediment and debris that I dont have to clean manually. What is disappointing is how it doesn't clean my steps and I have 3) 16ft long steps, it is patchy on the walls, and forget it cleaning the safety ledge all the way around the perimeter. I don't know if I'm disappointed because my expectations are too high, but I swear Ive read that others have success with their machine cleaning the walls and steps. This is my first pool, and I'm still figuring things out. I would like to also note that the film on the sides of the pool are mostly from the pool construction. 6.29.20 Update. I didn't take another star off my score because for what it has caused problems I realize how much it is saving me time. The back wheel somehow dislodged itself from its housing and the rubber track that runs front to back got twisted with the foam wheel in the front. We were able to fix it twice. I have tried to call Maytronics that is supposed to warrant the product, but I have not been able to speak with anyone yet. Yesterday, I submitted my online contact form and I called and sat on hold for 1 hour and 25 minutes... and I never spoke to one person before the line when quiet and I was disconnected. I was at my desk the whole time working so I know I didn't disconnect. 8.10.20 Because I submitted my repair claim on the Maytronic website,I received an email telling me that we were under warranty and our repair would be covered. At first, I didn't receive the postage to send the machine back. I requested the postage and they send me a Fedex label. I dropped the box on a Monday and we got our machine back on Thursday of the same week! So far our machine is working as expected. I added a star for the super fast repair service.

So far so good. Plenty of cord to reach the pool from the electrical outlet. Great suction easier to clean than I expected. The cord is a bit of pain to deal with when I pull it out of the pool. The caddy for this would probably be good but seem to be way over priced. I feel it should have came with it for the cost of this vacuum.

This is by far the best robot pool cleaner we’ve seen. After much research this is the once we purchased, and it did not disappoint. This thing has great suction and sweeping power. It will climb the walls and even travel along the water line of the pool. Love that you can preset cleaning cycles on the remote control as well. Easy set up. Very impressed. *Our previous was a Hayward Sharkvac, which lasted 5 years but never performed like this Dolphin Nautilus.

Not sure where some of the negative reviews are coming from but this product is fantastic. Coming from an old side-suction model, this Nautilus is a life saver. I had some dirt buildup following an Arizona summer storm and this cleaned the pool to the point it never looked better in the 2 years I've lived here. The price tag originally made me nervous but the cost is certainly well worth the performance.

I am amending my original review. After some go around between Backyard Pool Superstore and Maytronics, it was deemed a warranty issue. Maytronics covered the cost of shipping the cleaner to and from the warranty repair center. It was returned to us in working order very quickly, about a week turnaround. Since it was repaired it has worked beautifully. Well worth the money we spent just in the hours and labor it saves. I would have given 5 stars if not for the original issue. I wanted to use it for most of the season to make sure it was really holding up before amending my review. Original review: I love the maytronics pool cleaners. We borrowed one for an extended period last year and this year decided to purchase our own. It arrived on Friday just 4 days ago. I was not very happy with Amazon's packaging for such an expensive and somewhat heavy piece of equipment, it was in a pretty flimsy box that was coming open at the bottom in contrast to a simple knee brace I recently purchased that came in three boxes! Anyway we unboxed it read the directions checked it over it didn't appear that there was any damage. It is just been sitting on the floor in my family room until the chlorine levels from the opening of the pool were low enough per the directions to use it. And today was that day, so I took the dolphin out and set it up and put it in the pool. I turned it on it started right up as it should and within a few seconds I noted it wasn't moving and it looked like it wasn't setting on the bottom of the pool. So I let it go a few more seconds thinking it just needed to soak in enough water and it still would not move. So I shut it down and I pulled it out of the pool to find the entire rear axle had come unseated and was sitting in the middle of the bottom of the cleaner. As I picked it up the axle and Axle cap fell off in my hand I carefully set it on the side of the pool and begin to look for the other axle cap thinking well maybe that's why the entire axle came off because it was originally missing one of the axle caps. Well I opened up the filters and low and behold and one of the filters was the axle cap it had vacuumed up. So clearly it was not an issue of a missing part. I am going to call the company now and I will come back and update this review period based on my previous experience with maytronic pool robots I would have given this 5 stars and I hope to be able to change it to 5 stars. Update 5-10-18 I called Maytronics and they sent me back to point of purchase; Backyard Pool Superstore. They were less than helpful and willing to exchange the machine. They would take the machine back but at a hefty cost of a 20% restocking fee! So back to Maytronics I went and I got a different person this time. They are sending it in for repair at their expense and shipping it back to me. I will update once I get the machine back again.

This robot is good only on the flat surface. Once it's on the corner it couldn't do its work. It got many debris in the pool. Very good auction power but need a little work on improving cleaning the corning.

I tried cleaning my pool using the pool filter system, and it was such a pain in the butt. I cannot believe how easy this is to use and clean. ABSOLUTELY worth getting if you want a clean pool. We use it every morning and swim all afternoon. I would also recommend getting the caddy.

We recently moved to a house with a pool and it didn’t have a vacuum. We didn’t know if we needed one but there was constantly fine dirt in the bottom of the pool. We bought this vacuum and it made a world of difference. A must have for any pool owner! Little side note, we purchased the ultra fine filters and that makes even a bigger difference for that fine dirt in your pool.

I am so impressed with this robot. I took it out of the box, plugged it in, plopped it in the pool (which had so much guck on the bottom I couldn’t vacuum it up - not enough suction) and watched it do its magic. It picked up sticks, pine needles, danglers - (I don’t know they’re called), and leaves. I didn’t think it would do this good of a job. My pool is so clean. I’m thrilled. This robot is legit. Cleaning the filters was a breeze. I didn’t even look at the directions! It is expensive, but it is going to save me from vacuuming and cleaning out the pool filter all summer. Yay.

I am used this Brand for over 5 years this is the third one, by experience with multi-mark my associate as large pool maintenance, they have try so many brand. Conclusion Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robot it more appropriate for my kind of pool. The last two other was less powerful and technically less qualities programming than this one. But the past 2 machines start to have mechanical problem after 28 to 31 months. But living in South West United State, they are cleaning daily 365 days a year, some time 2 times day in summer when temperature reach over 100 F . I have try an other brand before order this last one and after short period the robot was return for mechanical disorder!

This pool vacuum is so simple to use. Just throw it on the pool, plug in, and press on. Just remember to remove before swimming. It will clean my entire pool in about 2 hours. My pool is a kidney shape 36 x 17 ft. The cord easily reaches the entire pool. It does clean the water line, main center drain, and a fair job 0n steps. I have a small hand vac I do steps with. It does not get stuck on my pool ladder like my polaris did. Love it, great investment.

great cleaning gets all the surfaces of my pool including stairs. stopped working after 2 years because I let it get too wet in the rain I think, but customer service was great and they promptly repaired the unit after doing some troubleshooting on the phone. when it broke I briefly tried an 'aiper' unit but there was no comparison, it missed half the pool, couldn't climb up the walls, and just seemed generally to have lower build quality.

My first ever review, but this product deserves a review. I’ve owned a 40x20x30 true L, 40,000gal, 10ft deep, with bench and stairs, pool for 3 years. Vacuuming sucks! I’ve been researching robot vacuums for last 2 years and decided on this one. I just opened the pool and only used it twice and it’s amazing! First, don’t buy the caddy, it’s not necessary. I have round resin storage tables between Adirondack chairs and it fits in there fine. I dropped it in the 3ft area, climbed the benches and stairs, but not the top stair because it’s too shallow. Scrubs the walls, waterline, even goes over the skimmer vents. It did get stuck on the main drain for 30secs, but then did this air blast thing and got itself free. In the deep end it climbed 10ft up to the fountain and cleaned entire waterline. Unbelievable! I think all the wheels and scrubbers and anything that touches the pool are rubber. No risk damaging the liner. It’s worth the money, even if it crashes in a year or two I’d buy another. Cleaning it is so simple, just as easy as skimmer baskets. When we opened the pool, guys came and did a quick once over vacuum to waste. Then I put in the dolphin and got up all the leaves, debris, everything. I emptied about 20 leaves and it never shut off by being too full. It ran for about 3 hours. But I could see a couple spots it missed. I put it in the next day and crystal clear, no missed spots! No longer will I spend my Saturday mornings vacuuming. The pool opened on Tuesday and by Thursday it’s ready for swimming. My only regret is I didn’t buy the dolphin sooner. If you want the most expensive vacuum on the block, go for it, but I’d put this vacuum against any other one.

First let me say that this robot works well! It comes with two sets of filters, both coarse and fine. the fine filter polishes the water. It may hang up on steps though. I will say the 2.5 year warranty will have just run out when it dies. This is not unusual with several brands I've used. So buy the extended warranty and take most of the sting out when you have to replace it. Keep it out of direct sun and don't leave it in the pool, and you should make it to the three year mark. I'm on my second one and the price has gone up 100.00. So I'm on the hook for the increase, taxes and the warranty, about 300.00 bucks, much better than $950.00. But this thing is worth it. Enjoy! Update: Well not only did the price increase, they no longer include the ultrafine filters!!! You have to purchase them seperately. Knocking off a star!

After spending the last two summers spending 3 hours vacuuming our vinyl liner freeform Lagoon pool with the skimmer vac, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a robotic cleaner. After a couple of months doing research on what was available and the reviews of each, I finally decided on the Nautilus Plus from Pool Zoom via Amazon. While it is still new (only used a couple of times) I can't speak to the longevity of the unit but I will update my experience. But for now, it is an amazing machine. I simply placed it in the water and hit the "on" button and she started buzzing away. It had no problem crawling over the drains however it did not seem to climb some of the walls that great. It would climb up to about 6" from the waterline and then suddenly just give up and drop down to the bottom and resume cleaning the floor. Other walls, it would climb all the way to the waterline and then turn and vacuum around the waterline. It supposedly scans the pool to figure out the most efficient route but I'm not sure how it works. It seemed to just roam willy nilly around different parts of the pool with no rhyme or reason but by the end of the cycle, everything was sparking clean so no complaints. I also don't see much of a reason for the 3 timer settings as it's recommended you don't leave it in the pool all the time--maybe I'm missing something? I was initially concerned about my outlet being 30 feet away from the pool edge and the cord from the outlet to the power supply is only about 6 feet but there is plenty of cable from the power supply to the robot to reach the far side of the pool. So far I am loving it--Now I can spend time doing what I want to do and let the machine do what it does. Update: Now 6 weeks of ownership and working like a charm so far. With winter coming it will be especially helpful not to spend 3 hours out in the cold manually vacuuming the pool. We live in the south so it does not get frigidly cold (except a few cold snaps) but even the 30's and 40's are a bit chilly when you have to be out in it for a couple of hours. Sitting in the warm house while the Dolphin cleans the pool is an attractive option for me. Update 2-Now have been using for over a year about once a week. Still cleans and operates like a charm. It's about time to get replacement filters. Even with rinsing the filter out after each use, they still get dirty looking after a year of use. Update 3-Now over 2 years and still a fantastic little machine. Highly recommend.
